Dhoom:2 made = 80 Cr in 2006, the biggest NETT Collection any film would have collected till 2006. That was DHOOM Brand's magic in 2006.

Amrish Puri is not a Hero, Yes, if Hrithik or John would have repeated, D3 would have earned the same amount in same format same style of release.

Pricing tickets higher for certain films or during special occasions like Diwali and New Year is not uncommon. In fact, earlier Salman releases Ready and Bodyguard had been priced higher than regular rates. However, a 12-16 percent hike is unprecedented.

Explaining the hike, an insider said, "Most multiplexes rolled back the ticket prices (ref. Mirror, May 3, 2012) a few months ago. So, a 12-16 percent hike will come out to be about Rs 20. Which is fair. After all it is the festive season. People are willing to shell out extra money for a Salman film especially during Eid. The multiplexes have taken this decision after a lot of research."

Confirming the development, Anand Vishal, Head of Operations, Fun Cinemas told us, "Nationally, the price will rise by about Rs 20 per ticket. After all it is a premium product. This kind of thing is done during festive seasons. And today Salman films demand higher premium than before."

The price hike will however, not be the same in every theatre. Areas where there is more than one multiplex, will see a 12 percent hike in ticket price. While areas, with fewer theatre options will see as much as a 16 percent rise. And this will apply to all major cities in the country.

10-12% = 20 rs more

What The What? Dhoom 3 IMAX Tickets To Cost Rs 900!

By IndiaTimes | December 19, 2013, 10:00 am IST

Even Uday Chopra seems to be doing a double take...Uday Chopra

As 'Dhoom 3' readies to make its stylised entry at the Indian box office Friday, it seems that it will not just impact audiences visually but financially as well.

The IMAX screens have set their prices at Rs.400-600 for the morning shows and Rs.700-900 for the night shows, according to their official website.

For a family of five, watching "Dhoom 3" could thus mean an expenditure of Rs.4,500, sans any coke and popcorn!

The prices might seem extravagant and uneconomical for a middle class family but advance booking status on the website shows that the seats are filling up fast and have even been sold out at places.

This might be the status for IMAX screens but others are keeping the ticket price affordable. The cost of tickets in multiplexes ranges between Rs.300-Rs.400.

The prices in New Delhi seem to be lesser than those in Mumbai and range between Rs.200-Rs.250, with the exception of a few theatres where the prices have gone upto Rs.500.

Yet, he had no problem increasing prices for Bodyguard & Dabangg 2.

Also, what you said holds true for Aamir as well. D3 is a YRF production too so why should Aamir bear the brunt of the ticket hike.

There is nothing wrong in price hikes...these people are doing business and not charity...The Khans cost a whole lot of money...why shouldn't the producers hike prices when their product costs more and is of better quality...

IMAX tickets - 900 Bucks!

There's like 5 IMAX screens in all of India. For your peace of mind, take 1 Cr off the collections of D3. 😆...and I'm being generous here.
