Your mom is also in the UK na? Why doesn't she ask one of her friends in Pakistan to know if the grand mother is actually serious or not? That way you can spare yourself the trouble.

Also, even if she isn't ok- Soni call me stone hearted, practical, unemotional, heartless or whatever but i will say this- big deal if she isn't. Relations are more about love and affection than pecuniary interests and selfish manipulations. Where have they ever shown genuine love to you people for you guys to rush to them at the drop of the hat when you can barely afford it yourself?
