(Abhirami (the goddess who is pretty every moment) along with her consort Amrutha Ghateswarar ( he who is the pot of nectar) is the presiding deity of Thirukadyur in Tamil Nadu. It is believed that the pot of nectar which arose at the churning of ocean of milk, floated and reached Thirukadyur. Here the pot itself became God Shiva. It is also believed that , it is here that sage Markandeya prayed to God shiva and to save himself  from clutches of death, Lord Shiva killed  Yama, the God of death and saved the great sage.

There was a great devotee called Abhirama Bhatar in this place (see my introduction to Abhirami andathi) who was so immersed in goddess that when the king asked him what was the phase of moon that day, he replied that it was full moon. But actually it was new moon. To prove that his words are true the goddess threw her ear studs  in to the sky. Her ear studs shined like a full moon. The king then realized the greatness of Abhirama Bhatar).

FOR SANSKRIT SCRIPT
 ABIRAMI STOTRAM IN SANSKRIT

this is a very rare stotram
note the 8th and the 10th verses

in the 8th you ask for manglayam ( to be a sumangali till last breath)

and in 10th verse you ask for the kumkum to be always present in you forehead( which is also to wish for sumangli till last breath)

you can notice the words NITHYAM used in this stotram
nityam means daily ( till your last breath)

usually some elders bless as "DHEERGA SUMANGALI BHAVA"
which means i bless you to be a sumangali  for a long ( DHEERGA) period of time

but in this stotram it highlights nithyam ( which means till your last breath)

there is a lot of diference between long period and till you last breath

so hereafter if elders bless
plz bless as NITHYA SUMANGALI BHAVA
