Chennai Express is aiming for a good third weekend at the box office. Film is bound to show drop on 3rd Friday from 3rd Thursday as screening is reduced and is a normal working day. But good news is that it is showing decent occupancy in early 3rd Friday shows, which augurs well for the weekend. Film has opened to 20-2%% occupancy all over India on 3rd Friday in Morning and Noon shows. Considering film into 16th day occupancy is pretty decent.

CE has collected around 197 crore nett in two weeks flat. In 3rd weekend CE aim will be to surpass 3 Idiots lifetime collection mark and re-writing history books. After that it will aim for collecting as much more as possible till the end of its running in theaters. With screen reduced to around 950-1000 screens for this week, CE will at least aim for a 8-9 crore weekend. That means film will reach around 206-206 crore nett by the end of this weekend. Also, it will aim for 210 crore nett before the release of Satyagraha. This is the bare minimum benchmark the makers of the film is expecting. Anything above this is bonus.
