Madras Cafe vs Chennai Express vs OUATIMD Screen Allocation from 23rd August

Madras Cafe is releasing on 23rd August and it has to fight it out with Chennai Express and Once Upon Ay Time in Mumbai Dobaara which are currently running at the box office. As per information received Madras Cafe has managed to get good screen size at least in multiplexes and is leading ahead of Chennai Express and OUATIMD. In single screens screens are shared between all the movies.

Madras Cafe has got around 1600-1650 screens all India. Still screens are getting locked but actual should be in that range. Considering the film star cast of John Abraham and Nargis Fakhri it is a significant release size.

Chennai Express which is already into 3rd week now has able to retain most of the screen from second week. As per our estimates it will get a screen release size of around 950-1000 in 3rd week. Which is just 40% drop from 2nd Week. As for OUATIMD it is the biggest casualty because of Madras Cafe. It has got a screen count of around 850-900 screens. Film had around 2300-2400 screen size last week and around 60-65% drop is registered in its screening. Anyways still Chennai Express and OUATIMD has enough significant screens to collect sizeable in coming days. As for Madras Cafe it has got bountiful screen size and now all depends on film content to fare at the Indian Box Office.

Approximate Screen Count for 23rd August -

Madras Cafe - 1600+ screens.

Chennai Express - 950-1000 screens.

OUATIMD - 850-900 screens.

My past self feels really embarrassed right now. I had predicted that CE will underperform and make maximum 150Cr. 😆
