All Time Blockbusters in Bollywood

All Time Blockbuster is a loosely used term in Bollywood today. Even a film like Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani has been declared as an All Time grosser even though the film wasn't close to as big a hit as films like 3 Idiots, Ghajini or Dabangg.

Below, we have a full list of 17 'All Time Blockbusters' in the history of the Hindi Film Industry. Chennai Express might soon join the list if the film manages to collect more than 210 crores.

  • Kismet (1943) – 1 crore
  • Rattan (1944) – 1 crore
  • Mother India (1957) – 4 crore
  • Mughal-e-Azam (1960) – 5.5 crore
  • Sholay (1975) – 15 crore
  • Jai Santoshi Maa (1975) – 5 crore
  • Ram Teri Ganga Maili (1985) – 9.5 crore
  • Maine Pyar Kiya (1989) – 14 crore
  • Aankhen (1993) – 14 crore
  • Hum Aapke Hain Kaun (1994) – 70 crore
  • Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge (1995) – 61 crore
  • Raja Hindustani (1996) – 48 crore
  • Kuch Kuch Hota Hai – 45.5 crore
  • Gadar Ek Prem Katha (2001)  - 76 crore
  • Ghajini (2008) – 116 crore
  • 3 Idiots (2009) – 202 crore
  • Dabangg (2010) – 143 crore

Coming to the actors with 2 or more All Time Blockbusters to their credit, its Salman Khan right at the top once again with 4 all time grossers to his credit (3 if his extended special appearance in Kuch Kuch Hota Hai is not taken into consideration). Salman is followed by Aamir Khan who has three films to his credit.

Shahrukh Khan is the only other actor with 2 or more All Time Blockbusters (3 if Chennai Express continues its good run). Surprisingly, Amitabh Bachchan, one of the biggest stars in history, doesn't have a single solo All-Time grosser to his credit (Sholay was a two-hero film).

  • Salman Khan – 4 Films (Maine Pyaar Kiya, Hum Aapke Hain Kaun, Kuch Kuch Hota Hai and Dabangg)
  • Aamir Khan – 3 Films (Raja Hindustani, Ghajini and 3 Idiots)
  • Shahrukh Khan – 2 Films (Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge and Kuch Kuch Hota Hai)

My Review:::

** S R K ** is Back ... Was excited for this film from start, even more than this forum's Srk fans 😛 ... Now this is how u make a Entertaining Film, O Sum Comedy, Sweet Romance, FUDDU Music / Action (can be ignored) ... Full Paisa Vasool Entertainer 👍🏼

Intro Train Comedy Scenes just made your happy mood for film, 1st half is extremely good, balance comedy with super Massy Song "1 2 3 4 Get on the Dance floor" (Only Song i liked in movie)... Rohit Shetty Never fails 2 deliver Good Timepass Mast film, he did it here with Exception.

SRK has finally found his lost touch, After RNBDJ, this Srk movie i have enjoyed fully in Cinema Hall (Although liked DON 2, But this Rocks Better)... Yes, He is back in Form, This time, no Shitty Double Meaning dialogues... In fact, most of the dialogues of film is in Tamil, Still it was fun 2 watch film as Audience also was confuse like SRK, he carried Rahul's character very well. Last Action scenes were somewhat disappointing coz in end we can't see our Hero getting beaten up by Same Villain whome Pandey ji has kicked in Ready/D2 😛 It can be ignored, it looks same like DDLJ CLIMAX, even we said when Dpad's Dad leave his hand "Ja Simran Ja", whole hall was laughing ...

DPAD ROCK Like Anything... Loved her South Indian gal accent n the way she portrayed Meenamma... After Love Aaj Kal... this is his finest performance.

Rohit Shetty === Hands Down... only complain, Why can't in end he cud give more heroic action style which he gave for Ajay in past movies...

Chennai Express is READY for me, only that i love READY more, still Chennai Express i will buy this BLURAY for sure...

5/5 ==== This Is it... Go Watch with your whole family... Abey Zayda mat dekh lena, kahin ETT ka lifetime hi break kardo... .dekho par Dabangg 1 jitni hi dekho 😛
