However, the film can be viewed by these celebrities only after the broadcaster gets specific permission from the producer, who has a right to know who will be viewing the film. It so happened that on Wednesday night, Shah Rukh Khan or some member of his family apparently wished to see Ekta Kapoor's Once Upon A Time In Mumbai Dobaara at his preview theatre in Mannat. As is the practice, the broadcaster called a member of Ekta's team to secure permission.
Things aren't exactly hunky-dory between SRK and Ekta at this point, so the staff member, who would normally be qualified to give permission, forwarded SRK's request to his lady boss.
Our source says, "Ekta refused point blank to allow the Bollywood superstar to screen OUATIMD in his private theatre one night before. She apparently turned around and said, "Tomorrow, he can buy a ticket and see my film in a regular theatre like everyone else."'
Throughout the Chennai Express and OUATIMD clash, the media has steered clear of blowing up any issues between these two. And, it seemed on the face of it, that everything was cool between SRK and Ekta. But like our source points out, "Ekta didn't invite Shah Rukh to her iftar party and SRK didn't invite Ekta, her parents Jeetendra and Shobha or brother Tusshar for his Eid party. Reportedly, even Akshay Kumar and Imran Khan were not on the Mannat guest list for the same event.
