Television actor Shantanu Maheshwari who currently plays the popular role of lover boy "Swayam" in Channel V's Dil Dosti Dance, shares with us his fitness mantras and what he does to keep in shape!
What does staying fit mean to you?
Anything you can do without regrets!
What fitness regime do you follow to keep in shape?
I don't follow any such strict regime because "waise toh roz dance karke workout ho hi jata hain".
Do you prefer hitting the gym or sticking to normal exercise routines like walking or playing sports?
I do use the gym but feel that sticking to normal routines is the best and yes I do play sports.
Which sports do you play regularly?
I play badminton, basketball and cricket.
What are the 3 basic things you do daily, to keep in shape?
I don't really get time to do much due to shooting every day, but yes I try and jog or run sometimes and otherwise the basic push ups and a few other warm-up exercises.
Do you feel that food and eating healthy play an important part in keeping fit?
Yes definitely, but overdoing either of them is not a good option. I suggest that eat and then workout as doing both creates a balance and will surely help.
Are you conscious of your eating habits and what does your daily diet contain?
No, I eat everything. Proteins and other foods too, because I eat as well as workout and as I said, dance karke most of my workout regime is already sorted.
Do you believe in the size zero concept that has suddenly taken over everybody these days?
No not at all! I mean, itna kaun karega yaar!

A fitness tip for your fans?
Drink a lot of water to stay healthy and fit.
