This is an intriguing story. My first thoughts, like everyone else, were that Arnav was a ghost but you have already discounted that, so how can it be that he is real and this is his home if it has been covered in dust and so unkempt for so long???  Also Anjali is there too. Don't tell me Khushi and her family are the ghosts??? Now I'm sounding really crazy.

Was it Khushi's dream?  She had read the names on the painting.  The dream was a result of her subconscious mind giving the names a voice and structure.

Great update! Arnav and khushi both clicked. But I'm a bit creeped out with Arnav. He's not a ghost but he lives in sheesh mahal and no one has seen him or his sister yet.
