Well I think Primary care needs big hospitals to survive because hospitals make their money from specialists/surgeons and atleast PCP's can refer into their system and in turn the hospital and eat the cost of keeping PCP's around 🤣 But seriously, there is no respect for primary care anymore- very sad.

Bill O'Reilly- oh I hate than man too- Jesus was killed because of higher taxes- W*F..because jesus didn't pay his taxes so the irs killed him 🤣

Honestly, I'm very divided...i feel like no matter what the policy is- democratic or republican- the working middle class always gets screwed.

Who told you about " no respect for PCP" . We can't be without them . Who will do our consults ?. We know ,nothing about BP AND DM . So stop having poor self esteem . I gave big lecture on self esteem to someone on the forum . Do not make me write it again .

Did you find Bill O' Reilly article ? He was so stupid . He is trying to connect Democrats with higher taxes and which killed Jesus , funny . He is so stupid but has lots of followers !

Well no I didn't mean that PCP's aren't needed but yes we get no respect for what we do because if we were respected, that would be reflected in our paychecks 😆 I don't have a problem with surgeons/specialits making more, but I think its unfair to people who rack up the same amount of loans during med school to get penalized for choosing primary care.

btw, i was going to say, I really liked that comment on self-esteem- a balance between worth and competence- very nicely put.

I thought u were going to post the o'reilly factor for me

I will share my paycheck with you . We pay ,higher malpractice insurance . It balances . I am expert on self esteem .

Thank for liking it at least some one understood it .That girl didn't understand it went over her head .,

I agree, surgeons/certain specialties do pay more in malpractice, but I don't think that even comes close to balancing things out- I think primary care faces different kinds of challanges- dealing with pt's psychological issues and differentiating the psychosomatic from the real pathology without ordering every test under the sun takes a lot of energy/skill- does not mean that I don't respect what surgeons/specialists do- I just think that primary care doesen't get recognized for what it does- that's all. Okay rant over 😆

@ red . I know salary difference is unfair . we all work hard and sweat every day . I feel really bad for pediatricians. Lowest paid . They have to deal with neurotic parents, specially moms . I don't think I can handle it .dealing Crazy families are my weak point .

I disagree with you that PCP are not recognized . The reason pay scale is different because of reimbursement rate . So insurance company and Medicare and medicaid payment system is responsible . Procedures bring in lots of money ..

I agree with you that diagnosing patient is very difficult for you guys but we are not immune to it . But less than you .

I had one very scary encounter . One Xmas eve ,I was on call .now you know that on this day hospital is short staff . One lady came in ER . I was called in . She presented typical picture perfect symptoms for Meningioma Stenoid wing tumor . She was poor historian . No MRI tech on duty . No help from any one . Looked like she needed immigrate surgery . me and 5 th year took decision, . While waiting for OR , I turn computer and typed in her name just to see if she was ever in the hospital and Bingo . she denied taking many meds . She was patient in our out patient clinic for neurotic behavior. She was on lots of meds . As I was logging off I saw similar name and I opened it . That was her husband . He was Meningioma patient .Operated by Lynne. This women knew every symptoms and mimicked them . She was lonely on Xmas eve decided to come in . I was saved .So once in a while we are victim too . You guys have it worst . Plus we don't have to take calls from families at night .

Yes medicare/medicaid/insurance does reimburse less for primary care but I once heard that the poeple on these committes who decide on reimbursements are physicians themselves and apparently, not many primary care physicians, mostly sub-specialists and surgeons. Don't get me wrong, honestly I do think that certain specialties should get paid more than others- you are taking more risks and dealing with more acute life threatening situations- but like i said before, I think I should be able to suspend/dismiss some of my med school loans if I go in primary care- to pay the same amount to get training and then get paid less for choosing a certain specialty is what sounds unfair to me.

. Now I am done with my siblings education and weddings now I am free to pay your loans . I know your frustrations .I hear that from many residents .

Now I am going to make you really sick . When Shama started her first job her paycheck was larger than mine . She was employed by PW as Accurary . Her company used to charge 450$ per hours .( under her company name ) When she did freelancing she charged 250$ per hour . when she is finish with all her exams( two more to go ) she can charge upto 500$ An hour . What do you think? All my siblings make more that me . They laugh at me . Less study l less headaches and more money . Thats why I am after saumya to peruse accuracy . Lots of money . We are in wrong field .

BTW . Have you ever thought about working in rural area till you are free if loan ? Great option .
