in india normally 2nd seasons not working well...
but IPK may will work season two only if only if Arnav and Khushi( Barun and sanaya) once again come to the tv screen once again...

so better change the title.. if SP wants Season 2 back ipk means every IPK fans want... so come up with Barun and Sanaya... if they are not coming together... then don't come up with any 2nd season plzzz
and thank you so much for sharing

Obviously, seasons in the west do well because they don't change their main characters and actors and turn it into new storylines!! Those people get chance to takes long breaks!! In India, it's the opposite!!  In India, they create seasons by changing the characters and the actors and the whole storyline!! I guess because it's better for them to start fresh rather than actually take the time to  think about the next plot in the story!! True, the indian audience are quite fickle when watching TV!! While in the west, the audience are more loyal fans of shows!! But of course in the west, some audience do also love the original better than the sequel!! Some do get bored eventually when they find the stories are being dragged!! It happens in American soaps not just in indian soaps!! Maybe they need to first learn how the americans do it!! Smile

Clap.. exactly.. in west they never change d actors nd characters.. so many example we have:  Vamp diarys , prison break etc etc etc.. since they dont change d actors ppl r waiting more eagarly to watch nxt season.. bt india its a opposite... they wil cast some rendom actors nd give a name of a popular show just to cash on d name.. those channel ppl need to understand one thing its nt d name which will bring success to some rendom show

Yes, in Indian television second season never worked whether its with original cast or not.
And if they start the new season without the proper ending of old season  then those shows got worst response. Our IPKKND fall in that category.

Because besides just the actors, the indian shows have nothing to offer. They ruined a soap with a great potential here [IPKKND] and now they are off to cash on the name with the supposed season two.

First of all, all these producers and directors need to understand the meaning of season two and respect creativity.  Cashing off names and keeping the business isn't the only road. Creativity works parallel along side.

So, I will elaborate this article and tell veryone why west is more successful with their seasons. It is not because it's just pre-planned but also because they don't murder creativity. They don't murder plot lines. They don't murder characters and they definitely give actors a chance to breathe while working instead of making it a stress.

edited to add;

Flavor and magic are the words used often here and I just want to say that 'MAGIC' can be recreated working with flow.

Cutting off a show in a span of two weeks after it doesn't reach the TRP charts isn't magical.

I agree completely. Seasons in the west are not different stories, plots or characters. Its just a continuation of the same story with same characters and plots. In India once a show ends the channel comes up with a new season which barely is a reflection of the original one. In my view IPKKND has lots of potentials if a new season is introduced with the same cast, crew and story. There are so many loop holes that need to be closed. But if u churn out a completely new show with an entirely different cast, crew and story u should not expect the viewers to accept the new show as a season of the original one. In that case why don't u give every serial with the romantic comedy genre the same name IPKKND? Why bother using ur little "Creative" Dimaag to find out a suitable name for each of them? I don't know how promising the new show is but if the channel thinks they will get the same set of viewers who has brought IPKKND to this heights then they r certainly mistaken. Just by calling a show as a new season of a popular show without any resemblance to the original one doesn't make it a new season.

Seasons is per shot and well executed can be the answer to all of Indian TV's problems regarding TRP's, schedule management and creativity.

IMO, the biggest problem is that the end of a show is usually considered as the failure of the show... the end happens only if TRPs are low. I always wonder why can't the shows be ended at the right point with a logical end. Many a times when the main concept with which the show has started finishes off, the show gets dragged on and on into something unrecognizable from the beginning... I felt that even in IPK, the same thing had happened... it started off well and continued fine until one point... and then it just became a complete mess... those tracks concerning Sheetal or Miss India stuff was not required at all... and the show could have been ended way before it by giving a spectacular conclusion...
