Vishal Bharadwaj's version of the famous Shakespearean play Hamlet according to Shahid Kapoor has been changed for the good. The actor believes that the movie is made keeping in mind the sensibilities of the Indian audience and cinematic requirements. The 33 year old actor also admits Haider' to be the most challenging role he's ever played.

In a recent chat to a leading website, Shahid said the charater he's playing is very different to all what he's done before. It was tough for him to get in the mind of the character written for him. Owing a lot to his director Vishal Bharadwaj, Shahid said it was his guidance that helped him pull off such a character. On being asked if he's hopeful for a national award, the Kaminey star said, "I don't think anybody thinks of those seriously. I've never been asked this question before so I guess there's something that people are liking." This is the third Shakespearean adaptation that Vishal is helming after the breathtakingly fabulous Maqbool (the cinematic version of Macbeth) and 2006's Omakara, the Hindi adaptation of Othello. Vishal Bharadwaj is a kind of filmmaker who seems to have mastered the art of projecting dark emotions, intense feelings and black shades on screen. While the promos of Haider have struck just the right chords, fans are expecting it to be yet another winner.

Meanwhile, Shahid has begun working for Vikas Bahl's Shandaar where he is cast opposite Alia Bhatt. The first schedule of the film has started and is expected to release mid next year. Haider which also stars Shraddha Kapoor, Kay Kay Menon and Tabu in prominent roles will be seen clashing with Hrithik Roshan-Katrina Kaif starrer biggie Bang Bang on October 2^nd.
