Hi people,
Yet another article on the rival site today (15 July 2013).
This time they spoke to Mihir Mishra, who plays King Dashratha in DKDM, and is
the husband of Manini Mishra who earlier played Princess Vijaya (one of Devi
Sati's sisters). Here is a quick summary with some quotes.
Mr Mishra said that it is challenging for him to portray the
"benevolent and humble" King Dashratha, whose "actions created history
and paved the path of the Ramayana." He said that "You can't add your nuances
to a historical character. Instead the actor needs to imbibe the character with
accuracy." He feels that the Ramayana
is both a blend of history and mythology, and that historical serials are
popular with people of all ages because both kids and adults can learn more about
history through watching them. He also feels that his current role in DKDM is
one of his most memorable roles to date, along with his role of Dr Rahul Mehra
in Star Plus'Sanjivani - A Medical Boon. He says he is open to accepting any kind of role
in future as long as it is challenging, but unfortunately hectic working schedules
make it difficult for him to enjoy his hobbies of going for long drives, and
playing soccer and cricket.
