Nina among Variety's Power of Youth Honorees

While we've often pondered what a The Vampire Diaries/Teen Wolf crossover would look like (lots of shirtlessness and pointy teeth?). But until that day comes, we'll just have to settle for this awesome news: Both TVD's Nina Dobrev(Elena Gilbert) and TW's Tyler Posey (Scott) have been selected by Variety to be honored at their seventh annual Power of Youth event on July 27.

The celebration recognizes Nina and Tyler, as well as Jake T. Austin and Abigail Breslin for their philanthropic work. Nina's being honored for her work with Free the Children, while Tyler is getting accolades for his work with the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. People who have been affected by the stars' involvement in these charities will also attend the event. The Fosters' Jake T. Austin supports the Ronald McDonald house, and Abigail Breslin's favorite charity is Project Sunshine.

"Celebrating Hollywood's most influential youth alongside the very people whose lives they've impacted is what makes this event so special," according to Variety publisher Michelle Sobrino.
