AsadZoya OS : Do You Want This Nikaah?
Zoya felt the mehendi being poured on her hands by tanveer who was sought to write his name on her palm. She closed her eyes tight as she felt the mehnedi making a burn on her palm causing her immense pain. To others, it would be a moment of bliss for Zoya but for Zoya, it was paining a lot. Afterall this is how their love is; painful.
After tanveer was finished, she looked up at Zoya who was smiling at her; a fake one though. She smiled back and left the place. The function went on with ladies dancing on different songs. For a change, Asad even allowed najma to dance freely. The function was going on smoothly when Zoya felt her throat getting dried. She needed water and everyone around her seems like they are engaged in themselves. She stood up and started to walk, looking for someone who could make her drink water.
"Need something Miss. Faarukhi?" spoke Asad startling Zoya. She jumped back startled and calmed her racing heart. "Ji wo I need water" she shied. "Ek minute" said Asad as he left for having water for her.
Coming back with a glass of water, he made her drink it. This felt so good to both of them. Najma then came to them making them come out of their mitwa moment.
"Bhaijaan, Zoya, aap aaiye yahan!" said najma dragging the two with her. She made Zoya sit at the place where she was sitting before and everyone asked to look for his name on her hand. He sat infront of her looking for his name in her mehndi. 'Surely tanveer had hid it with utter perfection' he thought and found it soon. Just as he pointed at it, the whole room filled with the applause. Soon the function got over and everyone retired to their room.
At night, Zoya came out of her bathroom. He stood in-front of the mirror gazing at her shyly. She put her hands in-front of her as if it was a closed book. Opening her hands up at her, she admired the dark brown color it had left on her hands. Tears welled up in her eyes as she remembered the saying, "Mehndi ka rang jitna gaada(dark) hota hai, unke 'wo' unse unti hi mohabbat karte hain" a deep red color spread on her cheeks. She was not feeling like sleeping. Not to forget, her mehndi was not perfect. The place Asad's name was spread on her hand, was burnt. It was aching. The time when she touched it, gives her a lot of pain; just like their love – painful yet pure. She went and sat in the garden looking up towards her ammi. "Dekho ammi, meri mehend ka rang kitna gaada aaya. It is a good sign na? Good sign that you daughter will be happy for forever? Right na ammi? I miss you ammi. Why did you left? Bahut yaad aati hai aapki ammi. Bahut zayaada" she broke into tears. Soon she found a blue coffee mug in-front of her as she saw Asad standing with it. He offered it to her and sat next to her. They sat silently gazing at the sky.
"Aapki ammi bahut khush hongi Zoya" whispered Asad in a low voice. She looked at him with tears still in her eyes. "Aur ye aasun unhe acche nahi lagenge" he said wiping the tears which could have flown down at any moment. She smiled at his gestures. "Aap aisa kyun kar rahe hain mr. khan?" asked Zoya looking everywhere but him. "Main aisa kya Zoya?" he asked. "You didn't want this wedding, right Mr. Khan? Then why are you doing it?" she asked as tears again threatened to flow down her eyes. "Yeh aapse kisne kaha?" he asked startling her. "Huh?" was all what she could say. "Who said that I didn't want to marry you?" he asked. "Wait! So you wanted it?" she asked mischievously while he blushed looking away. "OMG! Mr. Khan you can blush? Like, seriously?" she asked getting excited and a smiling wide. He looked back at her and caressed her cheek with his knuckles and asked, "Do you want this nikaah Zoya?" and here he had finally asked it! She looked down blushingly and nodded a 'yes' while he smiled at her not knowing what to do next!
