As long As you love Me
"I don't care who you are, where you're from
What you did...
As long as you love me"
Prologue
"How much?", the lady asked
"Dhai Sau ( Rs 250) ", the auto wala said.
His voice died down in the heavy rain. She opened her umbrella and stepped into the muddy area after paying him. She stopped in front of the gate. The guard nodded as he opened the gate for her.
The signboard read
"Sanjeevni mental Asylum"
She was escorted inside by an aged lady with a warm face.
"Madam said you would come",the lady said to her.
She nodded with a wry smile closing her umbrella as she entered inside the building.
"Oh hello! Meera maam! We were just waiting for you", the caretaker said.
"Come with me. I'll show you the room.",he ushered her inside.
Meera followed.
"What is the room number?",she asked.
"Its 143",he answered.
They climbed up the stairs.
"There you are",he said.
Meera smiled.
"Thank you", she said.
"No one comes here. No one comes to meet him. Are you his family?",the caretaker asked.
"No"
"Then?"
"I am no one", she said and asked if she could go inside.
The caretaker opened the door and Meera entered.
She asked to leave her alone for sometime and he obeyed.
She saw a man facing his back towards her. He was in a white kurti, which probably he had on for many days. He was busy writing something on the wall.
"Excuse me?",Meera said but there was no response from him.
She tried again and was greeted with silence again.
She let out a huge sigh.
"This was not gonna be easy", she said to herself.
Meera looked around to see the room. It was a dark as a dungeon, more like a jail. The walls were dirty and clingy. The floor was equally dirty.
She then looked at the walls.
"Jahaapanaah",she read out the words he had written.
The word was all over the place. There was not a single place empty on the walls. It was filled with 'jahaapanah'.
She wondered what the meaning was.
The man was still oblivious of her presence in the room . She waited.
She stared at what he was writing.
"Ms Farooqi", she read out.
He stopped writing hearing her voice. She could see him clench his fists.
Was she not supposed to read it aloud, she thought to herelf.
He was still not giving any response.
"Mr Asad Ahmed Khan?", she asked.
