"Jamshedpur is totally a non-glamourous city. But then I have been modelling since my college days. My grooming did help me win the Miss India title," says Tanushree insisting that young girls aspiring to make it big should go through the grooming process. Tanushree says that girls should be focused while trying to achieve their dreams.
"For me the next dream come true would be to act in a film with Shah Rukh Khan. I also want to do the kind of roles that Rani Mukerji has been playing — especially the one in Black. I would like people to stay foussed on their dreams to enable it to come true. Things don't materialise overnight. Shortcuts are a strict no-no for me especially when it means not using the righteous path," says Dutta.
However Tanushree has now managed to make it big in the film industry. "I know it was tough. But I am doing some good films. I have done films like Chocolate, Aashiq Banaya Aapne and 36 China Town. I have got a lot of recognition and success from these films," she says.
What if she hadn't made it big as an actress or a model?
"I have always been cooking very well. I would have certainly become a chef," she says.

"I've always wanted to be Miss India. I would watch beauty pageants as a child, wanting to be part of one. When I came to Mumbai, I decided to give Miss India a shot. Winning the title was an amazing surprise. I don't think I was prepared for it. It seemed so unreal for days after I won. Slowly, I realised my responsibilities, as I had to represent my country abroad. My trip to the Miss Universe pageant was also good. I came in the top ten but didn't win. It was disappointing because I had really worked hard for it", - Tanushree Dutta
