Hagrid prefers Scottish anonymity to Hollywood spotlight

Washington, July.20 (ANI): Even though he's in great demand in the US, Scottish actor Robbie Coltrane aka Hagrid, for Harry Potter fans, refuses to shift base from his native country to Hollywood, for he fears that the move will turn them into spoilt brats only bothered about money.

Coltrane revealed that he had turned down offers from producers in American who wanted him to sign a five-year contract, because he was afraid that the move would see an unwanted change in his kids.

"The trouble is they (US producers) want a five-year commitment, and I've got children who like living in Scotland. So it's not on. "I have this terrifying vision of my children with a platinum card saying, 'You tell the maitre d' what I want.' "Now they say, 'Oh it's raining here again, Daddy. I think we'll put on our heavy boots.' That's more of the childhood I'd like my children to have," Contactmusic quoted him, as saying.

Another reason why he prefers to stay put in Scotland is because he loves the freedom the hills allow him.

"I have the best of both worlds. I can have all the glamour and high-tension, and then I can leave it and go back to wandering around the hills with a fishing rod like a sane person," he added. (ANI)
