Aseem Chhabra, noted film critic and journalist based in New York, talked about Yale ''honouring'' SRK. According to his tweets, ''truth'' is that one of the powerful Ambani brothers are responsible for bringing SRK to Yale and getting him this fellowship. Here are all his tweets on this matter:

One of the #Ambani brothers is bringing @iamsrk to @Yale University. Money, powerful friends can just about do anything in this world!

His fellow journalist, Namrata Joshi of Outlook also warned him about ''reactions'' of his tweet:

Namrata Joshi ? @Namrata_Joshi Details

@chhabs dheere dheere bola keejiye Twitter mein. jaan ki hifazat keejiye

He, as expected, started getting angry reactions from SRK fans and supporters in response. Here's his tweet on being bashed:

Despite all reactions, he maintained his stance about ''money and power'' being ''at play'' in the SRK-Yale thing and the Ambani connection:

@ashermadan Dude one of the Ambani sons is studying at Yale. They asked him to come to Yale - he's traveling there for one-day as favor!

@ashermadan I dont care about misquoted - I said exactly what is right! It is money and power that is at play here!

He carries on further, by trying to imply he is not anti-SRK, but still says whatever he said was the truth!

Whatever it is, nice achievement for SRK, no matter ''how'' he got it. ๐Ÿ˜†

Before anyone bashes me for being a hater, I'll once again say what I said in Kareena interview thread - that I posted whatever I saw, for fun. Not anti-SRK, neither anti-Akshay Kumar or anti-Kareena.

This Aseem Chabra is a gigantic Aamir Khan fanboy and well known for his love and adoration of him.  These guys may be journalists but they're far from unbiased.  India bollywood media is absolutely pathetic. They should be ashamed of themselves and the stories they're always busy fabricating.

Aamir Khan fanboy? But he gave bad reviews to his 3 Idiots and also said he liked SRK's Chak De India over Aamir's Lagaan. How can he be an Aamir fanboy then?๐Ÿ˜ฒ

From his articles on SRK, he sounds like he's very friendly towards him, like his glowing coverage for Don 2 Berlin premiere - http://www.rediff.com/movies/slide-show/slide-show-1-pix-srk-floors-fans-at-don-2-s-berlin-premiere/20120213.htm

My friend (who's brother attends Yale) texted me at like 6 in the morning today and was whining that the tickets to this event are all sold out. They were gone within 10 minutes or something. And now Yale's South Asain Society or something is having a "let's watch SRK's films" week (that's not what they've called it, but you can imagine). Every single brown person I know from the CT area is going. Why should I lie, I would've gone to just for fun if I wasn't going to be in India during the week. But why though?...it's not like SRK is gonna be there during every movie. ๐Ÿ˜†

I think you got it wrong. The journalist didn't say SRK is being ''paid'' to get an award. He is alleging that SRK got this award through influence of Ambanis.

See his tweets carefully. According to him, SRK got Ambanis to get him an award in return for his visit to Yale. Ambanis' kids study there and in past they have been reported (by Forbes magazine, India) to have used their influence to get their kids admitted at the Ivy league university. And Aseem Chhabra is alleging that SRK's Yale honour has come through influence of Ambanis (considering their globally acknowledged wealth, power and past history of influence at Yale).

SRK is a star in his own right to need Ambanis to influence anyone in his favor. Just start an anti-SRK thread in this forum and everyone happily jumps in with their contribution.
