Television actor Mohit Raina who was last seen in TV serials like "Ganga Ki Dheej", "Chehra" and many more is all geared for his comeback on the small screen. This time around, the actor will be seen in Nikhil Sinha's much talked about show "Devon Ke Dev Mahadev".

Mohit said that he was really confused about signing for the show but the strong storyline and the plot of the show has really impressed him. Mohit will be playing the role of Lord Shiva in the serial.

Also, another aspect that attracted Mohit towards opting for this show was that no serial earlier has portrayed the love life of Lord Shiva. Nikhil Sinha's "Devon Ke Dev Mahadev" has made it to headlines with the buzz that the show will be essaying the romantic journey of Mahadev and Sati.

Veteran actor Mohit Raina said that he had to work really hard to get into the skin of the character so as to give an authentic look to the character. The actor further added that he is really excited for his role in this serial and gives the entire credit to producer Nikhil Sinha for roping him in the show.

By TellychakkarTeam 2 Feb 2012 - 19:28

Rakshanda Khan (Madinike)

Triangle Film Company's Devon Ke Dev Mahadev aired on Life OK seems to have

struck the right chords with the audience. In a time when mythological shows do not score well, Mahadev has managed to grab some eyeballs. And the future episodes of this daily will bring in more exciting drama for the viewers.

Currently, Madinike (Rakshanda Khan) has realized Sati's (Mouni Roy) unconditional love for Shiv (Mohit Raina) and is secretly supporting her as she is a big Shiv devotee, herself. In the upcoming episodes, Sati will perform Tandav thinking about Shiv. She will request Shiv to meet her else she will continue dancing till her last breath. In fact, due to her rigorous dancing, Sati will be on the verge of getting unconscious. Only then, Shiv will finally decide to meet Sati and will appear at Prajapati Daksh's house.

However, the twist in the tale will be when Prajapati Daksh (Surendra Pal) who hates Shiv will arrive home from maha mandal. He will be annoyed to see Shiv and Sati together. And soon after Daksh's arrival, Shiv will disappear and Sati will loose consciousness and will be in a bad condition. The only cure to get her back to consciousness will be getting Shiv to touch her.

Furthermore, Prajapati Daksh will get to know that Madinike is a Shiv devotee and also that she was aware of Sati's love for Shiv. He will throw Madinike out of the house and she will be punished to live life like a servant.

Tellychakkar.com spoke to Rakshanda Khan, who said "I have heard this, but since I haven't shot for it, I can't comment."

Mouni Roy doesn't have an attitude problem, says Mohit
Mouni Roy and Mohit Raina

There is a general perception in TV industry that Mouni Roy, Sati of Life OK's mythology show Devon Ke Dev Mahadev, has an attitude problem. Some sections of the media have complained about it as well. Even a female actor on set talked about the same on grounds of anonymity. But according to co-star Mohit Raina who plays Shiv, "She is a very sweet lady and a hard working actress. And as far as these rumours are concerned, I haven't heard of them. But I guess she is misunderstood."

He further informed us that in the current track where both of them are dancing together, Mouni has been helping him. "Since I could not get the moves right, Mouni spent extra time on sets a couple of days back," says the actor. In fact, he is scared: "She is a trained classical dancer. I will have to raise the bar to match up to her steps which is scaring me to hell. Just yesterday, she waited till I get could finally get my act together and also gave me some tips," says Mohit.

When Tellychakkar.com asked Mouni about the same she smiled and said, "Mohit is being modest. It's not that I went out of my way. He, himself, is a very good dancer and there is no big deal in helping out a colleague."

Producer Nikhil Sinha (Triangle Film Company) says, "One of the main reasons why we chose Mouni was that she has the right balance of attitude and innocence, just what the character of Sati demands."

In fact, Mouni's perseverance to work also stood out yesterday (4 February 2012) when she broke her toe nail which intruded into her skin while rehearsals. However, she did not take a break. Poor thing was limping but she continued with her act with the same zest and lan.

Producers should have given more time to Ammaji, opines Rakshanda Khan

Rakshanda Khan

Rakshanda Khan looks like someone? Who exactly? Think…think…Bingo! Now we know…she looks like the celestial maiden or apsara from heaven, Maneka. Yes, she is superbly beautiful and has a smile which can turn her fans into fanatics. She is currently a part of Life OK's Mahadev and is enjoying her stint in the show.

"I like my character Madinika. The Utsav look is quite interesting. Normally, I always have an input on costume and design but here I leave it to the creatives. I wonder how people managed to carry such heavy jewellery in the earlier times. They must have taken hours to get ready. Furthermore, I know Mouni (other co star) pretty well. So the ambience is quite comfortable on the sets. But yes, travelling to Vasai (shooting location) from Lokhandwala is quite a pain at times," shares Rakshanda.

Furthermore, she was seen in SAB TV's Ammaji Ki Galli (produced by Contiloe Telefilms) which went off air after entertaining the masses for a short span of time.

"Ammaji should have been given more time. Three months was too early to take a call. In the soap, the producer took the challenge to cast me as a housewife from Amritsar, though I have a western image in the media. I enjoyed being a part of it though Farida Jalal was the main lead in the show," she goes on to say.

Okay…we get the point. Now, the trend is back in Indian television wherein senior actors are getting back to business, like Ram Kapoor and Sakshi Tanwar in Bade Achhe, Shweta Tiwari in Parvarrish, Mona Singh in Kyaa Hua Tera Vadaa, Sameer Soni in Parichay, amongst others. This is what she has to say about the development:

"I am happy that now senior actors are getting work post Bade Achhe. First, the argument against us was that we charged too much but in effect we were asking what is our due. Not everyone, but only a handful were charging obscene amounts. Furthermore, I am very happy for Mona as she is back big time in the world of fiction. Even Sakshi had to wait to get a big role. I am sure that Smriti will also have to bid her time to get a great character. When it comes to me, I did a cameo in Phulwa as a lawyer but no one really noticed it. In the future, I want to do comedy shows."

Well Rakshanda, hope you get whatever you want in life. Have a great year ahead!!!

Love to play a super hero on television: Mohit Raina

The writer has posted comments on this articleTNN | Feb 8, 2012, 12.00AM IST

Telly star Mohit Raina on his small screen experiments, his dream role and new found love for the virtual world

When his Tellytown counterparts are busy chalking out strategies to grab their share of the entertainment pie in the industry through fiction and reality shows, actor Mohit Raina treads a tad different path. Having already tried genres of thriller in the show Chehra and fiction in the telly show Ganga Ki Dheej, the actor is enjoying his stint in his current show Devon Ke Dev-Mahadev, which is based on mythology.

It is this penchant for gunning to do something different that keeps this handsome chap going in life. Mohit is all gung-ho about his role and the character of Lord Shiva that he plays in the show. According to this model-turned actor, who came to try his luck with the greasepaint from Kashmir few years back, essaying this kind of role is not as simple as it seems. "It is difficult to play a role which combines divinity with human touch," says Mohit who adds, "Initially, I was under lot of pressure as I could not exactly visualize the role and was apprehensive. When I went to browse information on Lord Shiva I could not find much information which could give me an insight to visualize Lord Shiva's personality. It was difficult to imagine what his mannerisms would have been. But once I got myself involved fully, I could brace myself up for the challenge."

The actor feels that he got a much needed break after the show Ganga ke Dheej concluded. "But the break lasted only for three weeks as Mahadev happened," says Mohit who wants to focus on his current on screen endeavor. "I am dedicating a lot of time to this show. I do not have any future agendas set. I am not too ambitious and I just believe in playing it by ear," says this commerce graduate from Kashmir, who came to Mumbai and began his career with modeling.

Apart from mythology and fiction, it is action that interests the actor. And the actor says he is eagerly waiting to don the thinking cap of a swashbuckling superhero. "I love to play a super hero on the small screen if such a show is made. I really loved Chirstopher Reeve's autobiography Still Me."

Quiz the actor about his interests in life but he is quicker to talk about his crush in life. And no, it is not about that someone special in his life. Mohit confesses he is smitten by the virtual world of social networking. "I just started connecting on the social networking sites. I am really enjoying it as I am following my favorite celebs on the web. Being an SRK fan, I religiously follow his tweets. It's fun when you get to know so much about a person," says Mohit on a parting note.
