producer Nikhil Sinha

Content rules over everything, feels "Devon Ke Dev Mahadev" producer Nikhil Sinha, who says it is more important to concentrate on creating and delivering the right story than to dwell over the time slot that a show gets on the small screen.

Sinha believes in making his own prime time slots with the right kind of shows.

"The story is most important for a show. The right story will do well at any time. Of course, the time (when a show is shown) also matters. But even at the right time, a bad show will not work. The content is paramount. I believe in making my own prime time slots," Sinha told IANS.

Having produced shows like "Baba Aiso Varr Dhundo", Sinha has also been a director of photography in shows like "Hatim", "Hotel Kingston", "Saat Phere", "Piya Ka Ghar", "Kaisa Ye Pyaar Hai" and "Kkusum".

Talking about his current show, "Devon Ke Dev Mahadev", aired on Life OK, he says that even though it is a mythological show, his team has tried to present it differently.

"'...Mahadev' is a game changer. Like when 'Balika Vadhu' came out, it was a different show on social issues and then many shows followed. The same way, '...Mahadev' has a different style of narration. After the success of this style of narration, many shows are moving in this direction," he said.

He is also happy with the fresh blood in the industry, and feels more newcomers should be roped in, albeit they suit the characters and follow directors' instructions well.

"The basic thing is that the actor must match the character in terms of looks. Secondly, he must understand his instructions even if he or she is a newcomer. They must be able to respond to instructions, must observe and then have the intelligence to understand and deliver," said Sinha.

Sinha's long term plan is to step into Bollywood production, but right now he is content with television.

"I had made a telefilm for Star Gold. I do have plans to make films for Bollywood... but not at the moment," he said.

It seems TV trend is soon going to take a shift from replacing all the saas bahu sagas with mythological and historical shows, which are getting appealed by the audiences these days. After the huge success of Imagine TV's Chandragupta Maurya, Life OK's Devo Ke Dev Mahadev, Zee TV's Jhansi Ki Rani, followed by Colors which is also gearing up for Jay Jagjanani Maa Durga, it seems TV scenario is on its verge to change.

And now the latest we have heard is that the owner of
Spice Telecom, B.K.Modi is coming up with his own production house named Buddha Films and they are gearing up for a series on Buddha.

This particular show on Buddha's life will telecast on Zee TV as the channel has given their approval on the same. The casting for this show is on and is hunting for the actor, who will play Buddha.

We tried hard to get in
touch with B.K.Modi but all our efforts were futile.

Toi article on the real goddes that was hidden in sonarika but came way sometime back

Actress Sonarika Bhadoria , who plays Parvati in Devon Ke Dev Mahadev , seems to have taken her role — of the powerful goddess — a tad too seriously.
The actress, like her on-screen character, can wreak havoc should you invite her wrath.
In fact, we hear that the entire unit is wary of getting into her bad books. Recently, she got a spot boy fired from the show.
And why? He dared to crack a joke at her craving for chocolates.
Says a source from the sets,"Sonarika had asked the spot boyto get her some chocolates. Whilegiving her the chocolates, he said,'Chocolate khaogi, moti ho jaogi' . This remark, made in a lighter vein, was enough to infuriate the actress. She yelled and hurled abuses at him and immediately ordered the unit members to fire him. The poor guy lost his job."
All attempts to reach Sonarika went futile.

TV shows that have created hysteria in 2012
Bade Achhe Lagte Hain
Shows come and go. While some fail miserably at the box office, others create a ripple in society, garnering perhaps more fans than a film can even attempt to do.

2012 has been no exception. While many shows did not see the light of the day, some continue to stand out in the minds of viewers. And nothing brings people closer than a show that helps families bond over content that stimulates emotionally, morally and intellectually. Here's a look at such shows of 2012.

Satyamev Jayate- Aamir Khan's debut show on TV has broken all records in the history of Indian Television. And rightly so. With 13 episodes, Aamir not only stirred the entire nation with sensitive social topics that are generally considered taboo in Indian society, but also managed to shake the political system of India and bring about a change. His opening episode on female feticide awoke the conscience of Indians throughout the world and caused the Chief Minister of Rajasthan ( Ashok Gehlot) to take notice. Even Ram Sampat's musical compositions at the end of every episode heightened the viewing experience for audiences.
Satyamev Jayate became the talk of the town with every politician, media house, viewers, social activists and members of the film and TV fraternity applauding the 'star' for his ground breaking research and he was also dubbed as the Indian Oprah Winfrey .

Diya Aur Baati Hum- For months in a row, Diya Aur Baati Hum topped the TRP charts and continues to rule the roost as the Numero Uno show in the fiction genre. Sooraj (Anas Rashid) and Sandhya's (Deepika Singh) unique circumstances and their growing love story on the show has struck gold with viewers. Diya Aur Baati Hum has won several awards including several awards for best television show in the fiction category.

Devon Ke Dev...Mahadev- This mythological show on Shiva has glued viewers of all ages to their TV screen. Mahadev is a recipe of success with the right storyline, costumes, actors, music, writer and director. And the episode that needs special mention is the one featuring Kali killing the demon Raktabija, which aired on 9th September 2012. That single episode has garnered the highest TRPS since 2011, beating all other shows across all genres. The show's popularity has also worked in favour of the male lead Mohit Raina whose success seems to have grown leaps and bounds with Mahadev.

Iss Pyaar Ko Kya Naam Doon?- Barun Sobti and Sanaya Irani's chemistry on the show is what made Iss Pyaar Ko popular! Although the storyline did not have much meat, it was Sanaya and Barun's onscreen pairing that had fans going crazy about the two. So much so that when the makers deiced to abruptly end the show on 30th November 2012, they were bombarded by fans to bring the show back by popular demand. Although Sanaya Irani was reportedly unhappy with the abrupt ending, co-star Barun Sobti decided to quit the show to pursue his Bollywood dream. Sanaya and Barun have won the Best Jodi award at several award functions including the People's Choice Awards India, going on to prove that actors can be bigger than their shows.

Bade Achhe Lagte Hain- TRPs don't necessarily always decide the fate of a TV show. Such is the case of Balaji Telefilms' Bade Achhe Lagte Hain with Ram Kapoor and Sakshi Tanwar as the main leads. This mature love story has appealed to the newer generation too and Bade Achhemanages to be in the news for some reason or the other. First it was Ram and Sakshi's lip lock on screen and the consummation sequence that was the most discussed topic amongst fans and viewers. Then it was the five year leap on the show that took the form of a debate between the makers and some of the actors on the show who were not too happy with the time leap. When the hunt was on to introduce a new character opposite Sakshi Tanwar (eventually bagged by Sameer Kochhar), that too created much speculation. Then there were talks of Ram Kapoor quitting the show but to audiences' delight, Ram continues to be a part of the show. All we can say, Ram and Sakshi Bade hi Achhe Lagte Hain sabko.

Madhubala-Ek Ishq Ek Junoon- Madhubala-Ek Ishq Ek Junoon debuted in May 2012 as a tribute to 100 years of Indian cinema. This larger than life daily shot in Ramoji City (Hyderabad), is almost a serialized version of a film. With a huge star cast boasting of popular names likeVivian D'sena and Drashti Dhami, Raj Zutshi, Raza Murad, Rakhi Vijan and the late AK Hangal,Madhubala may not boast of high TRPS but the treatment and of course Drashti and Vivian's huge fan following has made it one of the top shows of 2012. Whether the plot and storyline work or not, Drashti's simplicity and Vivan's charm is enough to keep the show running for a long time come.

Gumrah- End of Innocence- Gumrah also made its debut in 2012 and this crime based series that focuses on the youth has been received very well, causing other shows in the same genre to follow suit. A special mention must be made of Gumrah's host Karan Kundra who seems to be creating a new definition of popularity. Due to the good reception, season two was also launched with great pomp and show and with its success, season three will hit the TV screens soon.

Na Bole Tum Na Meine Kuch Kaha- This is one show that makes a comeback with season two because of the show's popularity. Although Na Bole Tum Na Meine Kuch Kaha was not an instant hit and took a while to build up, debutant actress Aakanksha Singh and fellow co-star Kunal Karan Kapoor managed to create a stir with their onscreen chemistry. The storyline and the entire cast and crew, especially the two children- Ashnoor Kaur and Vishesh Bansal added to the show's charm. When Na Bole ended in October (2012), fans went crazy demanding that the show should not go off air. And their wishes have been answered as Na Bole makes a comeback with season two in January 2013.

Viewers can only guess and speculate what surprises 2013 holds ins tore for them!.

TV's best on-screen Jodi's of 2012
TV's best on-screen Jodi's of 2012
Best Jodi's of 2012

It's time to say 'good bye' to 2012 and welcome the New Year 2013. However, before we do that let's take you into the flash back mode and witness TV's sizzling on-screen Jodi's of 2012.

Small screen has always been blessed with a number of unforgettable on-screen couples like Smriti Irani-Amar Upadhayay, Shweta Tiwari- Ronit Roy, Varun Badola-Sangeeta Ghosh, Divyanka Tripathi- Sharad Malhotra, Drashti Dhami-Gurmeet Choudhary, Vivian Desena-Sukirti Kandpal to name a few.

The onscreen couples create a scintillating on-screen chemistry, when they look into each-other's eyes or hold each other's hands and this makes them the most demanded couple. Here's a look at some of the small screen's hit Jodi's who set the screen on fire in 2012.

Sanaya Irani-Barun Sobti: Sanaya-Barun's pair will definitely go into the books of history for their remarkable popularity. Their sizzling chemistry was the driving force behind the show's attractiveness and made the show reach new heights. Their on-screen chemistry and screen presence made the fans go crazy. Though their characters were poles apart in cultural background and persona, but Khushi and ASR belonged to each other. In fact the real reason behind the shows successful run was Sanaya and Barun's hit pair. Unfortunately, Iss Pyaar Ko Kya Naam Doon recently bid adieu to its fans when Barun decided to quit the show to pursue career in films as even the makers of the show were very well versed with the popularity of Sanaya-Barun's Jodi.

Sakshi Tanwar-Ram Kapoor: What happens when two brilliant actors come together on-screen well the answer is very answer; they give a power house performance and a show like Bade Achhe Lagte Hain. Well, here we are talking about the excellent pair of Ram Kapoor aka Ram and Sakshi Tanwar aka Priya who enthralled one and all with their mature love story. Both the actors are very comfortable with each other, which is quite visible on-screen. The lead pair of'Bade Achhe Lagte Hain' will always be remembered for their on-screen lip-lock as they were the first ones to do it on the small screen.

Niaa Sharma-Kushal Tandon: Though the pair of Niaa Sharma aka Maanvi and Kushal Tandon aka Virat were initially roped in to play parallel lead's on the show but all thanks to theiramazing chemistry their pair became even popular then the lead couple Karan Tacker andKrystle Dsouza. Bubbly Niaa and flamboyant Kushal Tandon have shared screen for the first time but they look stunning together. The devoted love and dedication portrayed by the two characters are worth a smile from the audiences. They both look attractive and madly in love.

Kratika Sengar and Gurmeet Chaudhary: Kratika can consider her role in Punar Vivah as one of the challenging roles of her career. This is because Gurmeet and Drashti's pairing in Geet Hui Sabse Parayi created hysteria amongst fans and they hated to see Kratika opposite Gurmeet. However, in no time Kratika proved herself and today they are one of the best onscreen jodi's. Their romance is not only loved by youngsters but also caters to the older generation.

Drashti Dhami- Vivian Dsena: Individually both Drashti Dhami and Vivian Dsena are one of the best looking people of the small screen but as a jodi they act as a magnet. Though Drashti is best remembered for her sizzling chemistry with Gurmeet Chaudhary but her onscreen pairing with Vivian Dsena looks like a jodi made in heaven.

Mohit Raina-Sonarika Bhadoria: It was a big hurdle for Sonarika when she stepped into'Devon Ke Dev Mahadev'as the fans of the show were used to seeing Mahadev- Mohit Raina and Sati- Mouni Roy together. But Sonarika managed to impress the audience and her pairing with Mohit soon grabbed many eyeballs. People simply love to see one of their favourite characters of TV Lord Shiva and Parvati together on-screen and the pair of Mohit and Sonarika has now become a house hold name.

Krystle Dsouza and Karan Tacker: There have been several reports about chocolate boy of TV Karan Tacker and vivacious Krystle Dsouza's off-screen romance but the couple has always refuted the news by saying that they are just good friends. The duo has kept the gossip mongers wondering if they are or were ever really a couple. However, their onscreen jodi looks too cool, as they both are young, attractive and super talented. It is their off-screen friendship and on-screen chemistry that makes the pair worth appreciation.

Deepika Singh-Anas Rashid: Currently, their show is the number one show on the tube and Deepika and Anas stole the show as Sooraj and Sandhya in 'Diya Aur Baati Hum' and they look like an ideal couple. Nevertheless, newbie Deepika who has now become a household name shares a good rapport with Anas and their onscreen romance looks most convincing.

Aasha Negi and Rithwik Dhanjani: Their pairing is one of the highlights of Pavitra Rishtaand also the real reason behind the show's popularity. After Sushant Singh Rajput quit the show, the TRP's dropped drastically and the show needed a fresh pair to revive the show. And then stepped in Aasha aka Purvi and Rithwik aka Arjun, you can't miss the chemistry here. Anyone who has watched them in Pavitra Rishta will agree- that Aasha and Rithwik definitely deserve to be included in the TV's best onscreen jodi's of 2012.

Be it from a popular daily soap or unmentionable flop, till the time a Jodi lights up our mood, makes us fall in love with them and also makes us crave to see them together again and again, they will be included in this romantic list. Hope the season of romance continues in 2013 as well!

Devon Ke Dev...Mahadev- Apologies in advance but someone cried out "What a hot Shiv ji"!!!! and I rolled out eyes too!! But after a long time such a show was featured where I find it difficulty in nit picking. Rather costumes, language, characterization, story-line, facts, writer and director, the ingredients were all too amazing. With Mohit Raina, I certainly started
