Parineeti Chopra the new blue-eyed girl

Parineeti Chopra, who was lauded by critics and the audience in Ladies vs Ricky Bahl, has seemingly nudged Anushka Sharma out of contention
Anushka Sharma is a favourite of the production house that discovered her. In her very first film Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi, the banner cast her opposite Shah Rukh Khan, and quickly followed it up with three more films - Band Bajaa Baraat, Badmaash Company and Ladies vs Ricky Bahl. However, in the last release, the new discovery Parineeti Chopra (Priyanka Chopra's cousin) stole the thunder from Anushka. Everyone who saw the film had only words of praise for the new girl.

This hasn't gone unnoticed by the big guns at Yash Raj Films. Now they are keen to promote their latest find, just like they did Anushka barely four years ago. So much so, that they're even replacing Anushka with her in an upcoming film! The buzz is that Parineeti has bagged a project that was originally written for Anushka. "Aditya Chopra made that call," says our source. "Everyone loved Parineeti more than Anushka. Gauging by the response, they've decided to promote her aggressively. She's been assigned the best support team from the banner."

The actress has also been signed opposite Arjun Kapoor (Boney Kapoor's son) in his debut film Ishaqzaade, which was also meant to be her debut, but got delayed due to production issues. "The banner is shielding her from media interactions because they want to launch her in a big way next year. They've asked her to lie low till Ishaqzaade is ready for release." When asked, a spokesperson from the production house says, "Casting decisions are made only on one parameter - the script - followed by the director's vision."
