~CHAPTER 16~
Scene 1:
The funeral site
Geet and Maan embrace eachother😭😳😳...like they were separated for ages. Geet thanked her Babaji for protecting her Maan and solving all the problems.
Meanwhile, unnoticed by their eyes, Dev pulls out a gun from his blazer kept nearby. Nandini sees him and is shocked to utter even a word😲...It is only when he points it towards Maaneet that she screams out😲...
"Didi!!!"
Geet turns and trembles😕 at the sight of Dev pointing a gun at them...
"Geet tum samne se hatt jao😡...main abhi bhi tumhe chahta hoon. But Bro, unhe toh marna hi padega😡."
"NO!😲! Geet sirf Maan ki hai...har pal, har janam😭😭😭...tum goli chalana chahte ho naa...toh chalao, par pehle tumhe mujhe marna hoga...😡"
Dev lowers the gun in frustration😡, shakes his head in anger, and looks up again😡,
"Geet, agar tum meri nahi ho sakti toh tum iss Maan ki bhi nahi ho sakti...toh phir tumhaara marna hi theekh hai...Alright...marro apne Maan ke saath."
She looks at Maan one last time😭...and her baby too😭...composes her heart with one heavy breath. She closes her eyes, tears leaking out through her crescent eyelids.
"BOOM!!😲" echoes the gun shot.
Blood spurts out all over Maan's face...and Geet screams...😲😲😲
"MAAN!!!"😲😭
Maan had pushed her out at the exact moment. But something happened there in that fraction of second...
The person lying soaked in a blood pool was neither Geet nor Maan...Nandini and everyone else ran to the spot... Dev escapes...
To everyone's shock...
It was Brij😲 Geet's cruel brother, who earlier tried to take away her life. Geet is shocked and so is everyone else. Daar ji is the first to speak...
"Brij!!"😲
He looks at Daar ji with folded hands, breathing with great effort, he manages to speak...😭
"Daar ji...mujhe maaf kar dijiye."
"Brij...yeh tumne kya kiya."
"Nahi Daar ji, yeh hi meri sazza hai..."
Brij had come in between the bullet and Maan, and he lay on the ground with the bullet pierced in his heart, not the cruel one, but a reformed heart.
He then looks at Geet, with shame and repentance in his eyes...😭
"Geet...main tera apradhi hoon...Mere jaisa bhai kisi bhi behen ko nahi milna chahiye. Main tumhare maafi ke layak nahi hoo...phir bhi ho sake toh apne iss bhai ko maaf kar de."😭
Geet being the innocent and pure hearted angel; forgives him the very moment, and sits next to her brother's bleeding body, holding his hand.
Maan too sits next to Geet and says,
"Brij, why did you do this? You've already helped us by exposing Dev and his dirty plan...and..."
"Maan...main kitna bhi prayshchit kar loon...joh maine tumhare aur apne behen ke saath kiya hai...uska paap main kabhi nahi mita paoonga...Agar main apni jaan dekar tum dono ki jaan ko bacha leta hoon toh shayad meri aatma ko kuch toh shaanti milegi...😭😭😭" he then turns to Geet and touches her feet...
"Behen mujhe maaf kar de...Apne iss papi bhai ko maaf kar de..."
Geet stops him,
"Vir ji, yeh kya kar rahe ho aap...Aap mujhse bade ho😭...Maine aap ko maaf kar diya...aapko kuch nahi hoga..."
"Nahi Geet...mujhe marr jane de...jis haath se maine teri zindagi sanwarni thi, ussi haath se maine teri zindagi ujadni chahi...apni behen ko maarna chaha...mujhse bada rakshas aur koi nahi...mujhe tere pairon ko chookar prayashchit karne de...😭😭😭"
"Nahi Vir ji..." she turns to Maan, "Maan please aap ambulance bulayiye😭😭😭."
But it was too late...he had lost lots of blood and he knew that it was going to be his last few minutes...
"Mujhe yahin rehne do...apne parivaar ke saath...bahut akela rah chukka hoon...ab iss maut ki ghadi toh mujhe aap sab ko ji bhar ke dekh lene do...😭"
Brij's mother and father take their son's head in their lap and his mother says,
"Tujhe apni bhool samajhne main bahut der ho gayi puttar..." she weeps holding his head to her heart.
Brij looks remorsefully at Geet😭, with his hands folded, pleading her forgiveness.
Geet forgives him and he takes his last breath...
She hugs Maan and cries...
Scene 2:
Daar ji walks away from that place...😭
When he reaches a lonely place he broods on the events and on Brij's life...He realises...
"Babaji...yeh sab meri galti hai...Maine Brij ko haivaan banaya...main hoon iss sab ka zimmedaar...Maine humesha beta-beti main bhed-bhav kiya, uske mann main yeh zeher bharta gaya ki ladkiyon ko humari jhooti ke neeche rakhna chahiye...aur apne usoolon ke liye uska istemaal karta gaya...BABAJI...main hoon sabka gunehgaar...na keval Geet ka, Channi ka, aur unn sabhi begunah ladkiyon ka...jinko parampara ke naam par bali chadha diya...par main Brij ka bhi gunehgaar hoon...woh jaisa bana, usse maine banaya...Mujhe sazza dijiye Bababji...Mujhe sazza dijiye..."
The sky is rocked with a lightning and thunder...and Daarji falls dead😭😭😭...his heart broken with shame and regret.
Scene 3:
Everyone's gathered around Brij's body...
Police have grabbed Dev and dragged him there...He had no remorse in his evil eyes😈...
Geet holds Maan's hand and looks at Dev with hate and disgust...😡
The baby cries...
Dev tries to attack the baby in Nandini's hand...
"I'll kill you...like your mother killed my child...😡"
(It was Maneet's child you idiot😡 Bada aaya hai..mera child huh!!)
Geet screams and runs to the baby...Maan hits Dev and pushes him away...😡😡😡
Maan beats the hell out of him...and throws him to the police...😡
"Le jayiye isse...He's a criminal...jo apne hi bhai ke ghar ko barbaad karna chahta tha...le jaie isse yahan se warna main iska khoon kar doonga..." he is boiling with anger...😡
"I wanted to help him...What was I thinking??? My brother...my own brother tried to destroy my family..." Maan was completely broken at the reality of Dev...Geet consoles him and hugs him with their baby in her hand...She cries in his arms...
Later...
Adi explains to everyone how Brij had told Maan everything about Dev😕. They both had planned everything to trap Dev. Adi was the only one who knew about it...
The police now had all the proofs to arrest Dev and charge him with all the crimes he had committed.
The police hand cuffs Dev, and is about to take him to jail...
Daadi Ma enters...
He tries to emotionally blackmail her as usual...But this time Dadi Ma was on the side of truth and justice...She now had only two grandsons...Dev was dead for her...
"Dadi Ma...rokiye inhe...Please mujhe baccha lijiye."
She looks at him with blood shot eyes and slaps his jaw off...
"Lekar jayiye isse mere nazron ke saamne se..."
Police drags Dev away...He was finally going to pay for all his crimes...He was going to rot in jail forever(YES!!!👏👏👏)...or worse he was going to die at the hands of law. Finally justice was done...
Scene 4:
The black clouds burst open to pour the drops of relief...to purge the hearts from the shadow of evil.
Manneet holding their bundle of joy, walk towards a new beginning...a happy tomorrow...where their love will bloom and spread its fragrance...and they'll live happily forever and ever after...😳
