Dadima: "Chaliye Geet bete aap baithiye wahan. Aapko itni de raise khade nai rehna chahiye. Ise bacche par zor padta hai. Samjhi aap?
"Humain aapse bahut zaroori baat karni hai."
Geet: "Jee Dadima. Pehle aap baithiye."
As Dadima was leading Geet to the couch in their room Geet interrupted;
Geet: "Dadima hum garden main jaake baat karte hai na. Main na kamre main baith ke bore hoti hoon. Jab bhi Maan ghar pe hote hai to mujhe kamre ke bahar aane nahi dete. Kehte rehti hai ki mujhe sirf aaram karna chahiye. Par Dadima main ghoomna chahti hoon. Please aap mujhe neeche leke jayiye na." she said making a face that melted Dadima.
Dadima: "Chaliye bete. Hum neeche chalte hai. Par hamari ek shart hai. Agar aapko manjoor hai to chaliye."
Geet: "Kaisi shart Dadima?" she asked all confused. To ease her confusion Dadima replied
Dadima: "Aapko abhi yeh aapne adhoora choda huya dudh peena padega." She said having a smirk on her face.
Geet: "Jee. Abhi Dadima? Baad main pee loongi na. Abhi hum neeche chalte hai na." she said pleading.
Dadima: "Hum to bas aapki taang kheench rahe the."
Geet: "Dadima aap bhi na. Maan nahi hai to aap mujhe tang kar rahe hai. Main to aapki beti hoon na? To aapko to mujhe pareshan karna nahi chahiye na."
Dadima: "Geet bete aapko pata hai ki is haalat main aapko hamesha muskurana chahiye aur khush rehna chahiye. Bas isliye hum nain tang kheechen. Ab neeche chale?"
Geet gave her the best smile and hugged her tight;
Geet: "I love you Dadima!"
Dadima: "I love you too beta!"
Dadima broke the hug and gently kissed her forehead. She led Geet to the garden. Both sat down on the bench facing the garden; giving Geet a full view of the lush greens of the Khurana Estates!
Dadima: "Main aapse kuch poonchna chahti hoon. Kyun bhejna chahti hain aap Maan ko hamare saath Amritsar. Geet hum mattha baad main bhi tek sakte hai. Is waqt aapko hamari aur sabse jyaada Maan ki zaroorat hai."
Geet: "Ab main kuch boloon Dadima?"
Dadima: "Jee kahiye beta."
Geet: "Jis tarah main Maan ki har ek khushi ke baare main sochti hoon waise hi aapke baare main bhi sochti hoon. Main nahi jaanti ki kya sahi hai aur kya galat. Lekin itna jaanti hoon ki meri Dadima ko is waqt Amritsar jaana hai to bas maine saare intezaam kiye."
Dadima: "Lekin bete hum baad main chale jaayenge. Is waqt. Aur aapko kaise pata is sab ke baare main?"
Geet: "Wo main aapse us din milne aanewaali thi lekin aane se pehle aap Babaji se baatein kar rahi thi bas maine sun liya. Aur Maan se keh diya."
Dadima: "Lekin Geet main yahin to keh rahi hoon. Main akeli chali jaati."
Geet: "Is umar main; main aapko akeli bhejoongi aapne soch bhi kaise liya? Main to aapki beti hoon na; to aap meri baat nahi maanengi?"
Dadima: "Theek hai bete par aapko is waqt sirf aapka aur aapke bacche ke baare main sochiye. Mere aur Maan ke baare main nahi."
Geet: "Dadima main sab kuch jaanti hoon."
Dadima: "To phir aap yeh sab kuch kyun kar rahi hai?"
Geet: "Kyunki aap meri Maa hai. Nahi aap mere liye Maa se badhkar hai. Aap wo hai jinhone mujhe mera pyaar diya hai. Aap wo hai jinhone mujh jaisi ladki ko Khurana khaandaan ki bahu banaya. Aap who hai jinke karan aaj main bahut khush hoon. Sirf aapke karan aaj Maan mere zindagi main hai."
"Main nahi jaanti ki main aapse kitna pyaar karti hoon. Agar aap mujhe kahe ki main Maan ke bina rahoon do din main reh loongi lekin aapke bina nahi Dadima."
Tears now clouding Geet's eyes and choking her voice she continued;
Geet: "Agar Maan meri zindagi hai to aap meri jaan ho Dadima."
"Aapne mujhe wo saara pyaar diya jo ek Maa deti hai. Wo apnapan diya jo ek Dadima deti hai. Agar hamare zhagde ke baad aapne mujhe nahi roka hota ya mujhe naukri nahi di hoti to aaj Maan mere pati nahi hote. Main itni khush kabhi nahin hoti."
"Agar aapne Maan ke yaadaash chale jaane ke baad mera saath nahi diya hota to aaj main itni khush nahi hoti Dadima. Aaj agar meri saari khushiyaan wapas aayi hai to sirf aapke karan."
"Agar Maan ke zindagi main sirf main aur aap hai; to meri zindagi main sirf aap aur Maan hai."
"Aur agar aap meri khushi chahti hai to aap kal jaayengi aur mere liye asshirwaad lekar aayengi. Manzoor hai?"
Dadima caressing her face;
Dadima: "Bilkul manzoor hai."
Geet: "Dadima mujhe bas dar hai ki kahi peechli baar ki tarah is baar bhi koi'"
Dadima: "Chup ho jayiye Geet bete. Aise waqt aise baatein anhi karte."
"Aapko bhook nahi lagi kya? Kuch khaana hai? Gol gappe?"
Geet: "Gol gappe Dadima? Aapko kaise pata?"
"Aap Maan ko batayenge nahi na ki hum dono Gol gappe khaane gayi thi?"
Dadima: "Abhi aapne kaha na ki hum aapki Maa hai; to bas hum jaante hai hamari beti ko kis waqt kya chahiye hota hai."
"Aur haan Gol gappe waali baat hum donon ke beech main rahegi,"
Geet just smiled;
Geet: "Chaliye na Dadima. Main bas abhi aati hoon taiyyar hoke. Aur waise bhi aapko lekar mujhe bacche ke liye samaan lana hai."
Dadima stopped Geet and placed her palm on her cheeks;
Dadima: "Bura mat maniye Geet bete lekin yeh riwaz hai ki baccha paida hone ke baad hi bacche ke cheezien kharidi jaati hai. Pehle khareed ke rakhna; apshakun maana jaata hai. Aap samajh rahi hai na?"
Geet placed her palm over Dadima's and replied;
Geet: "Agar ye riwaaz hai to main ise nahin todoongi. Lekin Dadima'"
Dadima: "Main jaanti hoon ki wo aapko mall waale gol gappe nahi khaane hai. Aapko wo raste par ke thele pe milti hai wo khaani hai."
Geet nodded in affirmative and went for a change while Dadima called Nakul;
Dadima: "Nakul driver se kehna gadi nikalo; Geet ko aur mujhe baahar jaana hai."
Nakul: "Jee Dadima. Abhi kehta hoon."
Dadima made Geet sit down comfortably in the car and as they were in the car; both enjoyed the music and their gossip!
And Geet suddenly spotted the thela;
Geet: "Dadima wo dekhiye gol gappe ka thela."
Dadima: "Driver gadi rok dijiye. Hum abhi wapas aate hai."
Geet literally pulled Dadima towards the thela;
Geet: "Bhaiyya gol gappe dena."
Dadima was mesmerized by this daughter of hers; who acted like a kid now when she was going to welcome her own child in the world.
Geet: "Dadima aap nahi khayengi?"
Dadima: "Hamari umar tal gayi beta ye khaane ki. Aap khao."
Geet was enjoying each and every bite; wiping tears coming due the hotness of Gol gappe but kept eating them.
Geet: "Dadima ek to khayiye na." she said as she was feeding Dadima one Gol gappa!
Dadima: "Humare liye bhi banana bhaiyya."
As the two were engrossed in their talks and the Gol gappes; something striked Dadima. It was the same route by which Maan went to office. She feared if he saw both were eating roadside food. Scared she asked Geet.
Dadima: "Geet bete; yahi raasta hain na jahan se Maan roz office jaate hai."
Geet: "Haan Dadima lekin is waqt wo office main honge. Wo hamain nahi dekhenge. Aap baatein kam kijiye aur khaiyiye."
Maan had forgotten his two important Ajmer complex files and the blueprints. He needed to work on them and hence decided to go home to fetch the files. As luck was not on Geet's side; she was spotted by Maan having roadside food!
Geet and Dadima reached home late in the evening after watching a movie and having lunch.
Geet: "Goodnight Dadima."
Dadima: "Good night Geet bete." She said as retiring to her room!
Geet entered their bedroom to find Maan standing near the window. She went up from behind and wrapped her arms around his waist.
Geet: "Aap kab aaye Maan?"
Maan: "Main bas abhi aaya hoon. Tum bolo kya kiya aaj dinbhar?"
Geet: "Kuch khaas nahi. Ek picture dekha aur khaana kha kar aaye."
Maan: "Aur Gol gappe to nahi khaaye honge tumne?"
Geet: "Jee?"
Maan: "Agar khaane hi the to mujhe bol diya hota. Chup chup ke kyun khaaya?"
Geet: "Jee wo mujhe laga ki aap gussa karenge mujhpar."
Maan: "Haan main gussa hota par main tumhari koi baat nahi talta hoon. Office se dopahar ko ghar aate waqt tumhe aur Dadima ko dekha tha."
Geet just smiled at her husband; she was indeed blessed to be his wife!
He held her hand and made her lie down. He pulled up the blanket. He gently pecked on her lips and caressed her cheeks so she could sleep. He gently went out of their room; in the baby room. He opened the drawer to find Geet's eight month sonogram. The baby had beautifully developed and was healthy. Maan was on time for the sonography and was ecstatic when he heard that it was only one more month for their baby to come in the world! He gently kissed it and went back in his room! He couldn't be away from his baby for more than a day!
He packed his bag; kept all his clothes; Geet's photo and the sonogram!
He slept besides her; his arm automatically resting on her bulging belly and his neck making way into her hair. He kissed her ear lobe; whispering a Love you! She stirred and leaned back so he could give her support and whispered back a Love you!
