Part 3

 

It was the alarm ringing that woke up Maan at 6.30 in the morning. He saw his Mishti still in deep sleep. He slowly got down from the bed and pulled up the comforter. He placed a gentle kiss on her lips making her stir a bit. He caressed her cheek so she could rest for sometime more before he would leave for office. He went about doing his morning chores, his gym session, morning black coffee, reading newspaper, and finally getting ready for office. He stepped out of the shower to see Geet trying to get up. He rushed to her side and lending out a hand he said; 

Maan: "Geet ye kya kar rahi ho? Mujhe bula liya hota. Aur waise bhi ab tumhe akele nahi uthana chahiye. Mujhe ya Dadima ko bula liya karo." 

Geet: "Maan kya sawere sawere aap mujhe daant rahe ho? Pehle good morning to bolo na aur yahan aakar meri madad to karo. Mujhe neeche jaana hai. Aapke liye naashta banana ke liye. Kyunki agar main naashta nahi banati to aap naashta nahi karte.

Maan: "Geet yeh sab kya hai. Main roz naashta karta hoon. Tumhe kisne bataya ye sab?"

Geet: "Chaliye pakdiye mujhe."

Maan: "Geet main office main kha loonga. Tumhe is waqt ye sab nahi sochna chahiye. Tumhe ab aaram karna chahiye aur hamare bacche ke bare main sochna chahiye. "

She took a deep breath and looked at him,

Geet: "Jaanti hoon Maan ki mujhe kya karna chahiye. Main maa bannewaali hoon. Main rogi nahi hoon ki main kaam nahi kar sakti. Saare naukron ko bol ke rakha hai ki main koi kaam na karoon. Maan mujhe poora din ajeeb sa lagta hai. Aur waise bhi aapke liye main kuch bhi kar sakti hoon. Baby papa kuch jyaada hi ghabra jaate hai." She said smiling at him. 

Maan: "Agar main tumhe kuch boloonga to tumhe boora lagega. Theek hai chalo neeche." 

He couldn't win against his Mishti and led her to the kitchen. She made his favorite pasta and served him. While she was watching him eat, Dadima came from behind with a plate full of buttery hot steaming aloo parathas and a glass of milk. 

Dadima: "Good morning Geet bete. Kaisi hai aap?" 

Geet: "Good morning Dadima. Main bilkul theek hoon. Aap theek to hai na? Kal aap jaldi so gayi." 

Dadima: "Haan Geet bete hum bilkul theek hai." 

Geet: "Aap yahan baithiye..." she said pulling a chair for Dadima. 

Dadima sat next to her; 

Dadima: "Chaliye Geet bete; aap jaldi se ye paranthe kha lijiyega. Aur phir aapko dudh bhi to peena hai. Ab natak mat kijiye."

Geet barely had a portion of parantha when she refused to have more; she looked at Dadima with a puppy face, 

Geet: "Dadima bahut ho gaya. Aur main nahin kha sakoongi." 

Dadima: "Theek hai bete. Jab bhook lagegi to kha lena. Ab thoda to dudh pee lijiye." 

Maan: "Bahut ho gaya Geet tumhara ye natak. Tumhe sara khaana hi padega."

Dadima: "Maan bete kyun daant rahe hai hamari bacchi ko?"

Maan: "Accha to main daant raha hoon. Dadima aapne hi ise bigadh ke rakha hai. Shaadi se pehle meri har baat maanti thi. Ab jo marzi main aaye wahi karti hai."

Dadima: "To kya hamari bahu zulm sehti rahegi? Boliye Maan?" 

Maan: "Main aisa nahi keh raha hoon, meri baat to suniye..."

Just then Pinky enters with a laugh on her face; 

Pinky: "Kyun tang kar rahe hai aap meri behen ko?" 

Maan: "Lo ek aura a gayi aapke side lenewaali." 

Pinky literally took Geet in a rib crushing hug; but just realized that her bulging belly was in between them! 

Pinky: "Kaisa hai mera baby? Maasi aapko bahut miss kar rahi hai."

Geet: "Pinky aaj savere savere; kya baat hai?"

Pinky: "Dekhiye na Dadima; kaise baat kar rahi hai. Ek ko to khush hona chahiye ki main inse milne aayi aur ye to..."

Geet: "Dadima; main Pinky ke saath garden main baith ke thoda dudh pee loongi."

Dadima: "Chalo accha hai, Pinky bete aap jayiye Geet ke saath." Pinky nodded in positive. 

Maan: "Aur haan Pinky tumhari behen ki dimag main thodi akal bhi daal dena ki use aaram karna chahiye aur waqt pe khaana bhi chahiye." 

Pinky: "Jee Maan sir." 

Maan: "Are yeh kya baat hui? Jabse ghar par aati ho; tab to Jeeju keh ke mera sar khati ho; ab sir bol rahi ho? Dekho Pinky; main office ke rishte aur ghar ke rishte alag se rakhta hoon. Isliye tum jab ghar par rahogi; mujhe Jeeju kehna. Samjhi Saali saahiba."

"Aur ek aur baat; main upar files lene jaa raha hoon. Tum mere saath office aa rahi ho; ya phir tum Adi ke saath jaa rahi ho?"

Pinky was flabbergasted at Maan's comment.

Pinky: "Aapko kaise pata ki main Adi ke saath jaana chahti hoon?"

Maan: "Wo main tum dono ko bahut pehle se jaanta hoon. Main tumhari Adi se baat karoonga. Main karvaoonga tumhari shaadi."

Pinky blushed and kept looking at her Jeejaji with a big smile; all she could manage was a smile. 

Pinky: "Thankyou Jeeju!"

Geet looked at Maan and smiled; he smiled back. Pinky led Geet to the garden while Maan left for his study. 

He came back to see Geet enjoying outside with Pinky. He stood there looking at the two sisters bonding over the time they missed out. 

Geet: "Tujhe pata hai; aajkal Maan na bahut ghabraane lage hai. Mujhse jyaada unhe neend nahi aati." She said giggling and enjoying the fresh air! 

Pinky: "Geet tune hi Jeeju ko bataya na; mere aur Adi ke baare main."

Geet: "Nahi to Pinky; maine unse kuch nahi kaha. Tu to jaanti haina ki wo Adi ko apne bhai se badhkar maante hai. Bas Adi ke liye sab kuch kar rahe hai."

"Pinky wo Adi ne tickets book kar li na?" Pinky nodded in affirmative!

Geet took pinky in a bear hug and Pinky realized it's high time she leaves; 

Pinky: "Geet mujhe chalna chahiye; office ke liye der ho rahi hai. Bye baby!" 

Pinky left and was nearing the house when she saw Maan; 

Maan: "Pinky; meri ek baat manogi; kal main Dadima ko lekar Amritsar jaa raha hoon; to kya tum kal ke din yahan ghar main reh sakti ho. Main sirf tum par bharosa kar sakta hoon." 

Pinky: "Jee jeeju. Main rahoongi Geet ke saath. Aap befikar hokar jayiye." 

Maan: "Main bas Geet ko kamre tak chod kar aata hoon." 

Pinky smiled and Maan accompanied Geet in their bedroom. He was about to leave when she held him back, 

Geet: "Maan main aapse bahut pyaar karti hoon." She said as she rose herself and placed a kiss on his cheek.

Maan: "Oh oh. To tumhe itne dinon baad ye ehsaas hua ki tum mujhse pyaar karti ho?"

Geet: "Chaddo jee; aap na sudhrenge nahi." Saying this he was about to close in for a kiss when Dadima enters;

Both separate and are too awkward to look at Dadima.

Dadima: "Kya karoon bete; hum hamesha galat time pe ate hai. Ab Geet bete Maan kahenge; ki main unki khdoos dadi hoon; jo har baat unke romance main break dalti hai." 

Maan just walked out from there saying a good bye to both of them.

Dadima: "Sharma gaya bichara..." and both the ladies had a hearty laugh!
