Hey Daksha,
Wow, you have been so busy, it makes me feel very lazy...
I just wanted to comment on MayUr VM on Raabta. It was so well done and in an original way.
The choice of song was excellent, as you not only make use of the lyrics but those fluttery and quickly paced notes which you juxtapose with those 'glimpses' of slowly paced moments. Beautifully done.
I loved how you split that scene @0:11, first introducing Nupur and then Mayank. Very unique.
Then those flowing lines, one after the other which you slow down with a series of cropped clips; an ingenious way to focus our attention from being swept away with the flow of lyrics. However you don't just find a new gimmick and destroy its sparkle through exploitation, you keep tweaking and playing within it. @ 0:22 the gradual reduction of the clip accentuating Nupur's 'escape.' Then @0:30 where you change the clip through focus. Just beautifully done. Very impressive.
Then you slowly but surely move towards full framed shots, as the beat quickens and peaks @0:56 and that perfectly chosen scene, as Nupur falls and the singer yearns. Wonderful!
I loved that sequence from 1:11 until 1:18, as the shots flow with tone of the melody but also the pace. Then you hold it still for moment, and bring the viewer into their moment. Just impressive.
I really liked this one. Not only did it showcase your impressive skills and ingenuity but reminded me that MN VM's can still entice me.
Excellently done. Thank you for sharing. With much love, Sabah
