you know last Sunday I was having a almost similar discussion about Indian soaps ... where does it fails... the main problem according to me and my friend is the dragging / twist and turns after the ending off the main story... writers are not able to provide with decent scope and ad the saas, bahu flavours too it...or go away form the main concept... thinking that is what will work...while in that process the characters get butchered...look how it effected Geet...
second: how is the market in India...cause gul khan said the Indian market isn't interested in season 2... why would she say that...their must be a reason...what does the viewer wants and how can a channel provide it...
my best friend who is marketing specialist say: Sony is one off the better channels...they play the marketing game very well...and asoon they notice an concept doesn't work anymore...it's given a opportunity to come with a better strategy...but even if that doesn't work...the show is pulled off...
third: how does it fits in the Indian tradition and how progress is the viewer... cause although we are getting to see strong female...it this appealing for the average traditional viewer... will the concept work then...are they willing to accept a woman working out side, yes today an education is important and most woman are studying but due the get a chance to work...or is it only a showpiece...
ok, I hope I made any sense...cause to translate an discussion form dutch to english is hard... and marketing isn't my thing...
