PATHOLOGICAL LYING -- can be moderate or high; in moderate form, they will be shrewd, crafty, cunning, sly, and clever; in extreme form, they will be deceptive, deceitful, underhanded, unscrupulous, manipulative, and dishonest.
CONNING AND MANIPULATIVENESS- the use of deceit and deception to cheat, con, or defraud others for personal gain; distinguished from Item #4 in the degree to which exploitation and callous ruthlessness is present, as reflected in a lack of concern for the feelings and suffering of one's victims.
PARASITIC LIFESTYLE -- an intentional, manipulative, selfish, and exploitative financial dependence on others as reflected in a lack of motivation, low self-discipline, and inability to begin or complete responsibilities.LACK OF REMORSE OR GUILT -- a lack of feelings or concern for the losses, pain, and suffering of victims; a tendency to be unconcerned, dispassionate, coldhearted, and unempathic. This item is usually demonstrated by a disdain for one's victims.
CALLOUSNESS and LACK OF EMPATHY -- a lack of feelings toward people in general; cold, contemptuous, inconsiderate, and tactless.
POOR BEHAVIORAL CONTROLS -- expressions of irritability, annoyance, impatience, threats, aggression, and verbal abuse; inadequate control of anger and temper; acting hastily.
FAILURE TO ACCEPT RESPONSIBILITY FOR OWN ACTIONS -- a failure to accept responsibility for one's actions reflected in low conscientiousness, an absence of dutifulness, antagonistic manipulation, denial of responsibility, and an effort to manipulate others through this denial.

Now here is what I think about Shyam:
Based on what we have seen so far in the serial, we can say that several things in Shyam's behavior are common with the list above...he shows some of the classic symptoms.
He is a smooth talking charmer, who lied his way into the home of the Guptas and possibly into the home of Raizadas in the past.
We have seen him lying, conning, manipulating Anjali, Khushi and Buaji the most. He has no remorse or guilt or shame for his misdeeds.
He is indeed a parasite who sucks out money from his wife and indirectly from his brother-in-law, despite being employed as a lawyer, often coming up with false reasons to do so.
He is cold, cruel and lacks empathy - his behavior towards Shashi is screaming proof of this! He almost killed the man and continues to emotionally and somewhat physically torture him day after day.
Finally, when Khushi found out about his truth, he cooked up lies about being unhappy with his wife, painted her in bad light and spoke nonsense to cover up his deceit and lies.
Khushi - brace yourself! You have a deranged psychopathic person hell bent on ruining your life and of the people you love and care for!
