Part 7The wedding!
Disha, Sanya and Pori
were with some other girls
helping Priya to get ready
Pori was doing Priya's make-up
P: there!!! Sameer will just faint when he sees you!
All the girls laughed
and Priya blushed
they heard the bharaat coming
and all ran out to the balcony
to watch Priya's mum
doing Sameer's 'arthi'
Disha smiled with the rest
and looked at everyone
who had come
P: Disha!!
Just as Disha turned round
to go back in
DK came jogging in
Disha smiled at Pori
and went into the room
as DK took Sameer's mom's
(let's call her shradha)
blessings
she lifted his head
by twisting his ear
Sh: you're late again!
DK: aah!!...sorry aunty…but my ear!
She let go
Sh: DK! You really need to start getting on time
S: DK and time don't mix mom! Let's just hope he gets to his own wedding on time!
Everyone laughed
and walked to the mandap
then it was time for Priya
to come down
Sanya, Disha and Pori
were at the front
and smiling with Priya
Disha dropped her mobile
just as DK looked her way
he only saw someone
in a light blue dress bending down
but not her face
by the time Disha had got up
everyone else
was looking at Priya and Sameer
sitting at the mandap
the Priest started his mantras
Disha felt her phone vibrate
and quietly slipped out the house
to attend it
but the reception wasn't good
so she couldn't hear properly
by the time she'd gone back inside
they were on the saath phere
Disha went and stood at the back
only a few feet behind DK!
Sameer put the mangalsutra round Priya's neck
and the sindoor in her maang
everyone threw flowers
and DK walked up to Sameer
and congratulated him
Disha saw DK from the back
and tried to get a better look at him
but there were too many people
in her way
Priya's mum came to her
and asked her to help with some stuff
D: sure aunty!
Disha went
throughout the whole wedding
DK and Disha didn't get to see each other
sometimes his mobile would ring
or someone would call her
or they would both turn round in separate ways
at the split second
a few months later
Disha finished her course
in the University
and her, Sanya and Pori
were on their way back to India
Disha called Suhas on her mobile
D: hi mamma!!!
S: hi beta! When are you coming back?
D: just a few more hour's mamma
S: ok…and beta! My friend's son is coming today as well…he'll be here in a while
D: oh..ok!
Pori called her over
D: I'll talk to you later! Bye!
S: bye beta!
The doorbell rang and
Suhas went to get it
she opened the door
and was shocked at first
but then smiled
S: you're here so soon beta?!
