Chapter 13
Time no longer stood still for any of them. It was rushing by and for a change they were happy to be travelling with it, rather than being left behind. Ceremony after ceremony had been going on, as the whole of Mumbai fixed their eyes on each of their action, striving, thirsting and hungry for more.
Priya could grasp the palpable excitement, the tension filled ambience, the constant orders to get something or the other done on time. It was indeed nerve-wrecking but her heart no longer sank into the depths of her chest as soon as somebody exaggerated about how colorful the decorations were, how beautiful the sarees were and how matching the expensive jewelry was. All these much relished happiness seemed too trivial in front of Ram.
She knew he was there, each moment, his eyes fixed on her, never once interrupted by anything. He was there to make her feel comfortable, make her more than ready to handle all the pressures of this ever so grand wedding. Her dreams were safe in his eyes and all was right...

~ Two Weeks Later~
"Engaged to be married..." The words echoed in his room. The news reporter had been going on about it for quite a while, but Ram hadn't paid any attention until those words made his heart flatter.
Ram could vividly portray her that day... He had been patiently waiting in the crowded hall, greeting all his business associates and people whom he hardly ever met, his senses detecting her presence around with each passing moment.
He could hardly wait that day; his heart had been pumping extra volumes of blood as his breathing was accelerating without his control over it. Ram had managed to put on a mask of calmness around all but, it was evident to Vikram that his friend was anything but that.
"She will come down soon." Vikram said in a low voice just audible enough for Ram to hear through all the chattering.
"Who?" It was futile to argue with Vikram but Ram surely didn't want to appear that desperate.
"Vidya Balan... who else?" Vikram said in a serious tone, while a smirk was plastered across his face.
"Arey Yaar! Vikram, you just keep quiet for now! I am totally fine... Just... a little bit nervous... And I am sure you also would have been before you went through all this." Ram tried to appear normal yet his actions were giving him away.
"If this is your condition just before the engagement, god only knows how you will be on your..." His voice trailed off and Ram could see his eyes fixed onto one place as his grin got wider than before. Vikram hinted Ram to turn around.
"What happ..." Ram turned hesitantly and soon enough he forgot everything... Where he was, what he was about to say, his nervousness... Everything...
"Beautiful..." Ram had lost command over his senses the moment he saw her descending the staircase, along with Neha.
Ram was mesmerized by her charm that silenced the whole ambience as soon as she stepped down, her elegance as she gracefully climbed down without even a hint of nervousness betraying from her actions, her innocence and shyness as soon as somebody complimented her without any delay...
She had been wearing a simple, designer Salwar Kameez with a blend of her favorite colors as she adorned the necklace he had chosen for her. Her curves were evident, she looked divine...She was glowing as it contrasted a bit with her pale skin which was turning red with all the compliments she was receiving...
His trance broke as soon as he noticed that... An alien emotion engulfed his heart as he took long strides to reach by her side. He could see all the 'gentlemen's' eyes on her as she moved around with Neha.
Ram moved towards her side, taking her hand from Neha, and placed a kiss on her already crimson cheeks making her blush harder than ever... It was his own way of marking his territory... He was embarrassed about what he had done himself, but he held onto her waist tightly as she melted within his grip...
"What will Ram Kapoor and his fiance do on valentine night?" The loud voice of the news reporter boomed into his memories, pulling him back into reality. Ram could not believe that these media people could make utter stupid quizzes about what they would do on Valentine's Day...
"Valentine's Day?" Ram stood up from where he was sitting forgetting all about the frustration, rather thanking the media for this once.
"Let's have some fun tonight... Shall we Priya?" He thought aloud as mischievousness fully graced his tone...
