Actress talks of how she plans to balance her long-distance marriage and career

Kanika Maheshwari, who is known to portray negative characters in shows like Kahaani Ghar Ghar Kii, Raja Ki Aayegi Barat and currently in Diya Aur Baati as Meenakshi, is all set to tie the knot in real life. Her marriage to college pal Ankur Ghai is expected early next year. She says, "I met Ankur in college in Delhi and ours is a love-cum-arranged marriage. He is a businessman."

So what about her acting career post-marriage? "I'm not taking a break as my show and team needs me to fulfill my commitments. I will be managing the shoot of my show with the support of my producers, writers and the channel. I'm sure they are kind enough to adjust my schedule so I can manage to spend quality time with my new family.

I can't think of quitting the show. And thankfully, Ankur is very understanding and my in-laws are very supportive. I will be shuttling between Delhi and Mumbai as fortunately we live in a jet age and reaching the two places just takes about two hours." Apparently, Kanika has no clue as to where her honeymoon will be. "It is going to be a surprise from him (Ajay). My wedding date yet to be finalised. I'm looking forward to the D-Day." We wish Kanika a happy married life.
