Part 21:
It was six months since Geet moved to Mumbai and she had to admit that she liked Mumbai better than Delhi. There was a time when she loved Delhi but she resolved to leave everything behind when she left Delhi. She couldnt bear to be next to him. His mistrust in her had killed her more than what Arjun did to her. Whatever Arjun did to her was when she was unconsious, but what Maan did to her consiously was unbearable.
She didnt think she needed to put up with him anymore, that being the reason she left Delhi for good. Dev and Meera along with Aryan were her regular visitors but they did not mention Maan to her and she preferred it that way though she was deing to know about him.
All she knew about him were his conquests in business which she read from the business magazines. Her ache for him just increased day by day but she refused to admit it to herself. She did not want him in her life and that was final.
"Hey beautiful, you seemed to be lost in thought. I hope those thoughts have something to do with me in them." Yash, her colleague snapped his fingers in font of her.
"Yash! Dont you think you give yourself too much credit? I'm not that jobless to waste my time thinking about you." Geet slapped his hand playfully as she teased him.
"Gosh Geet, do you know how much it hurts when you speak like that to me? Sometimes i wonder how i have such a large heart as to forgive you everytime you insult me." Yash put his head down sadly.
"Please stop your melo-drama and come to the point!" Geet stuck her tongue out and Yash gave a light laugh.
"Coming to the point miss beautiful, you are the talk of the office ever since you gave that presentation. I'm sure you do not know this, but several companies were present who were very impressed by your performance. Do you want to know which company has finally signed the deal with us? Its..." Just then his cell rang.
"Geet, i've got to hurry up. The boss needs me. There will be a business party tonight organised by our company. Please be ready on time. The venue is Taj. I will do the honour of being your escort." Yash winked as he hurried away.
Geet smiled as she settled down to do her work. She was eager to know which company had signed the deal with them but then that could wait till until the party. First things first, she needed to buy herself clothes.
*************************
When Yash knocked on Geet's apartment door and when the door opened, Yash's mouth fell open. All he could do was stare. It was as if an angel was standing before him. With the combination of a red netted saree and a golden backless blouse, with the only ornaments being a pair of beautiful hanging earrings and tinkling bangles, Geet looked etheral.
"Yash!" Geet brought him out of his dream world. "Could you close the mouth and make an effort to move from the door? I've got to lock it. " said Geet as she gave him a slight push and closed the door.
Throughout the drive to Taj, either Yash was staring at her or giving her compliments to which Geet gave him funny replies. Yash was a good friend and Geet was very attached to him. He was like her younger brother but of course that didnt mean he did not leave a chance to flirt with her. In her new life, she tried to move on and she had succeeded in making quite a few friends.
She had initially thought that Arjun's doings would have an impact on her but then she realized, that why should she grieve about someone who was nothing but a peice of dirt? She need not get her mind dirty thinking about that scoundrel though she would have broken his teeth had he had the guts to come in front of her. She was grateful to Maan for only one thing and that being, he saved her before Arjun could completely destroy her.
They reached the venue which was beautifully decorated. The music was in loud blast. Geet met up with her boss, a middle aged man who was very fond of her. He introduced her to some of his business associates when suddenly the hall went quiet and people started whispering. Geet tried to peep through the crowd towards the entrance when she saw a tall muscular, gorgeous looking man dressed in tuxedo, make his way with a girl by his side in synch with the song that was playing.
(Listen to the song from kabhi alvida na kehna:www.youtube.com/watch?v=5Ni87A0zIyk)
Wanna naach all night (2)
Do you feel alright
Wanna naach all night
Dance with me baby, wont you dance with me all night
Won€™t you party party party, wont you run the floor all night
pyaare pyaare lamhe, pyaari pyaari baatein
sapno ke din hain, sapno ki raaten
ho goonjen hai dil ke taraane
bajne hain geet suhaaneh
behke hai saare deewane
toh nach le nach le all night
where€™s the party tonight
on the dance floor
oh sapno ke din hain, sapno ki raatein
where€™s the party tonight
Dance with me baby, wont you dance with me all night
Won€™t you party party party, wont you run the floor all night
Wanna naach all night (2)
Do you feel alright
Wanna naach all night
pyaare pyaare lamhe, pyaari pyaari baatein
sapno ke din hain, sapno ki raaten
ho goonje hai dil ke taraane
bajne hain geet suhaaneh
behke hai saare deewane
toh nach le nach le all night
where€™s the party tonight
somewhere down the road
on the dance floor

behki hain saari nigahen
phaili hain khwabon ki baahen
toh nachle nachle all night
where€™s the party tonight
somewhere down the road
on the dance floor
oh sapno ke din hain, sapno ki raatein
where€™s the party tonight
nacch, naach all night
get it right€.
Meri yeh kahani, jiski hoon diwani
Woh hai diwana mera
Is crazy about me too
Jo hai dil ki rani usko bhi zabaani
yaad hai fasana mera
woh poori hui koi kahani
mil gayi dil ki nishaani
jhoom uthi yeh zindagani
toh nachle nachle all night
so let€™s dance tonight
(where€™s the party tonight
somewhere down the road
on the dance floor
oh sapno ke din hain, sapno ki raatein
where€™s the party tonight) €" 2
I Wanna go dancing (where' s the), take you out (party tonight)
I Wanna go dancing, (where' s the) let€™s scream and shout (party tonight)
More than anything else, she felt an acute pang of jealousy strike her hear when she saw him with his hands around another woman's waist.
