Maan stood there for a while watching both Sameer and Geet enter their college. He was so immersed in his thoughts that he was startled when his mobile rang…He took his phone and was surprised to see that it was call from Geet.
Maan: Hellooo..Geet…
Geet: Ji sir…Mein ne call kiya.. yeh bolne ke liye ki…Thank you..
The moment Maan heard Geet's voice on the phone all his anger and rage seemed to have melted away and he was all ears to Geet….
Maan: Geet u don't have to thank me for all this…Afterall I am your….
Maan was about to say "Afterall I am your husband"…and he stopped midwaythinking how weird it would be to say that…..and he said
Maan: I mean ….After all I am your well wisher. Like Dadima I too want you to complete your education and make a mark on your own…
Geet: It was so nice of you that you took me the doctor…How much ever you refuse, I should thank you…
Maan: Ok. Geet..Thanks accepted. Now revise well and give your best shot. All the very best…
Geet: Bye Maan Sir…
Maan: Bye Geet….aur haan…evening just wait outside the college gate..I will be there sharp by 4 PM...to pick you up..OK
Geet wanted to jump with joy but since she was amidst her friends she just said OK to Maan.
Maan drove away to his office..On the way he could think of nothing else but Geet..He cherished each and every word she told him…At office he could not concentrate on anything…He just wanted the clock to move fast…so that he can go pick up Geet.
It was 3.30 PM and Maan shut down his laptop and started walking out from office. Just then Adi came up to him to remind him of an appointment with an important client..Maan asked Adi to take care of the client and just walked away…Adi was dumbstruck with Maan's attitude.. Maan always gave his client's the first preference….Maan drove as swiftly as he could and reached Geet's college before 4 PM. He waited there but Geet did not turn up. It was 5.00 when he thought he will call Geet on her mobile… He called her but there was no response… He got worried and called Dadima…
Dadima: Haan beta... bolo…
Maan: Dadima…Mein Geet ke college ke baahar hoon…lekin woh ab thak nahi aayee..kuch kaha kya usne..?
Dadima: Maan beta..Geet tho kab ka ghar waapis aa gayi hai… woh sameer ke saath dho gante pehle hi pahunch gayi thi aur Maan usse na aaj….
Maan cut the phone immediately…His anger knew no bound… He could not take what he just heard…He had asked Geet to wait for him…she did not…She went away with Sameer and moreover she never bothered to inform him or answer his call…He thought this was the limit and he cannot forgive Geet for what she just did… He did not feel like going home either…Dadima called him quite a few times but he simply cut her call…. He headed straight to the club and sat there fully drunk until it was mid night… Mid night there was a call on his phone…he picked up the phone and saw that it was Geet on the line…. He answered the call…
Geet: Hello Maan sir…Maan sir….
Maan: Bolo "Ms. Geet"…kaisae yaad aaya mera..
From his tone Geet could understand that he was drunk…She said
Geet: Maan sir…aap kahan ho…dadima phikar kar rahe thae aur abi abi sonae chalae ghae…
Maan: Dadima phikar rahe thae….accha…..aur tum Geet..tumhe phikar hai kya mere bare mei…nahi…nahi na..bala tum kyon meri phikar karooghi…tum hote kaun ho mere ki tum mera phikar karoghi..
Geet: Sir …aap aisae kyon baat kar rahe ho…please batayiyae ki aap kahan ho…
Maan: Teek hai...Mein Heaven's club mei hoon…lo bhol diya...kya karne waali ho Geet…bolo na…kya karne waali ho…
Geet: Maan sir aap please wahi par rahiyaee…please gaadi mat chalayiyae… mein bas aayi..
Geet immediately cut the call and ran out without thinking for a moment. She requested the gateman to get an auto..He said
Gateman: Madamji abhi tho raat ko ek bajne waali hai …aap itne raat gaye kahan ja rahi hai…
Geet: Please Shyam bhaiya…aap kuch mat poochiyae…please mere liyae ek auto lekhae aayiyae…please please…she started to cry..
Gateman: Ok aap please royiyae mat...Mei abhi leke aaya…
The gateman came with the auto and Geet immediately got in to that and asked the driver to take to Heaven's club… They were there in 15 minutes… Geet got out and started to search for Maan..She ran here and there…Most of the people there were drunk and were commenting on Geet..She ignored them and searched for Maan… Finally she saw Maan sitting all alone near a fountain and still drinking… She went straight up to him and held him by his hand…
Maan was shocked to see Geet at the club…He never though she would come to the club at that hour… There were tears in her eyes… Those tears moved his heart. He gently wiped those tears and went very close to her….Suddenly he took her in his arms and held her in a tight embrace… He was in a state of complete peace, with her in his arms. He started to gently kiss her on her neck… Geet was too shocked to react…She wanted to come out of his embrace but she could not resist his touch…Before she knew she was drowning in them and she slowly put her arms around his neck…. Maan started to kiss her more and more…and Geet simply gave in to his desire….They both were in a state of trance…Suddenly Geet came back to her senses with the buzzling noises around her… She knew she had to take Maan back home… She struggled out of his embrace; Maan was shocked at what he just did…He looked around and found people talking and laughing… He could see many an evil eye that was on Geet… Inspite of being drunk, he was precautious about her safety and he immediately caught hold of Geet's hand and dragged her to the car.
They both were completely silent during the drive back home… Geet did not know what to speak and Maan was out of words as well… They both reached Khuran Mansion. Maan dropped Geet at the out house and stood there for a while... Geet turned back to look at Maan. He was still looking at her. She walked back to Maan and said…
Geet: Maan sir… bahut raat ho gayi hai…aap jaake soo jayiyae..
Maan: Geet tumne mera wait kyon nahi kiya? Maine bola tha na ki mei tumhe pick up karne aaungha..phir bhi tum sameer ke saath chali aayi…kyon geet…
Geet: woh Maan sir…mein aapka wait karhi rahi thi tab…
Maan: (cuts in and says) Tab Sameer ne offer kiya ki woh tumhe drop kar degha aur tum chali aayi…haina Geet… aur mera kya Geet..mein wahi par tumhara wait kartha raha…Aur tumne mujhe call tak nahi kiya… Tumne mujhe yeh layak bhi nahi samjha geet ki ek baar phone karne bata dena chahiyae…Hai na Geet
Geet: Nahi Maan sir ... aap gahalat samaj rahe hai…Mein ..
Maan: Nahi Geet…tumhe kuch bhi bolne ki jarrorath nahi hai… Sameer tumhara best friend hai aur mei… Mei hota kaun hoon tumhara?? Par Geet insab ke baavjooth bhi hamare beech kuch hai jho…na tum… na mein... inkaar kar sakte hai…Lekin mei tak gaya hoon Geet…Aaj meine kitne baar koshish ki tumhe reach karne ki…lekin tumne ek baar bhi mera call nahi attend nahi kiya…meri tho dham ghut rahi thi andar hi andhar …lekin tum Sameer ke saath bahut comfortably ghar aagayi…. Tumne aisa kyon kiya Geet? Tumhari wajah se mein aaj client ke saath mera appointment tak cancel kar diya tha…lekin tum???
Mein teek tha Geet… Tum meri wife nahi ban sakti ho… Bilkul nahi…Aaj tumhari wajah se mein iss haalat mein hoon… paagal bana diya hai tumne mujhe… Mein Maan Singh Khurana hoon Geet…aur Maan Singh Khuran kho koi bhi Paagal nahi bana saktha… Aur Tum hoti kya cheez ho Geet…Mein Jaantha hoon Geet tum bhi uss Soniya ki tarah mujhe dokha dekhe kisi aur ke saath chali jaoghe Geet…
Mein ek baar aur dhoka khana nahi chahtha Geet… nahi chahtha…Tum please mere life se chali jaavo… I hate you Geet…I hate you… Please get out of my life… Maan Singh Khurana will live all alone… He doesnot need anybody in his life….Chali joovo meri jindhigi se…Chali jaavo…..
Saying
this Maan falls to the floor… Geet has th shock of her life listening to all
that Maan said… Her eyes were over flowing with tears… She rushed to his side,
Shouldered him up, took him to her room upstairs in the out house and laid him
on her bed… She removed his shoes and made him comfortable on her bed and sat
by his side looking at him until her eyes closed in to a deep but troubled sleep...
