I don't wanna sound  defensive or something...but I think all love stories are predictable. The basic story for 99.99% love stories is boy girl meet, fall in love, get separated.  What makes them different is the treatment..otherwise they're all pretty much the same.

So 1st half is good, 2nd half is slow and not as good.

 

well I don't wanna sound defensive either (ahaha), but BBB, JWM (two of my fav films) have lovers meet, argue, seperate and unite. But the treatment those two films got was absolutely brilliant...it just depends on how well the story is weaved together and how it lets the audience engage with it.
