What do these mean?

1) breaking Kushi's fast (episode when she fainted and Arnav fed her water)

2) what is a 'maha' episode?

3) the sindor (?) red paint

4) is arrange marriage still common in India? (and what is the purpose of the dowry?)

1) the fast is broken when a husband feeds his wife water

2) a mahaepisode is a 1 hr episode on weekends. The shows have one on a rotation basis

3) sindoor is worn only by married women. 

4) arranged marriages are still very much a part of indian culture. Dowry - in the real sense is what is called stree dhan (woman's wealth). It is given by the girls family for her. But it has been corrupted and boys families sometimes make demands of money, jewelry etc. from the girls family and it can cause huge problems for girls families.
