I had guessed that this is a fake name because how can this secret be revealed so easily?
I agree with Sunny's point that reason to hide the real meaning of KD must be clarified.

Till his father come into picture this KD name will remain mystery. I guess so. 

 mystery of his name is  not yet revealed out , initially as i heard his name karan diwakar , i also had not felt as its his actual mean because no any kind of excitement i got to see .. and also professor dint call kd by karan diwakar in court...
