Amit Tandon (born April 11, 1979) is an Indian Musician and television actor.

He was first seen on television as one of the 11 finalists of the first season ofIndian Idol. He was eliminated early and has since become a television actor whilst doing music. In 2008, he released his debut solo album Tanha.

Tandon came to India to participate in the country's first reality TV show and had made his way to the final round of India Idol 1. He was the second to be eliminated on December 31, 2004.

He provided vocals for the Indian Idol 1 album and another album also featuring the Idol finalists titled Yaaron

After Idol, he was next seen as Prithvi in Ekta Kapoor's Kaisa Ye Pyar Hai in a role of. Prithvi was a supporting character.

He has done many Stage shows as well as a singer. 

Ekta Kapoor next casted him in the role of Manthan, Karan and Tanya's son, in her popular soap opera, Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi

The show last aired on November 6, 2008.

After Kyunki, his next show was the Zee Tv drama, Saath- Saath Banayenge Ek Ashiyan. He played the role of an NRI , Abhay Singh.

After taking part in Indian Idol, Tandon took part in two more reality shows -Jo Jita wahi Superstars and Zara Nachke Dikha.  

During ZDJ he became good friends with Karan Singh Grover, Jennifer Winget  and Shweta Gulati.  

And later he  joined  Karan, Jenny and Shweta in the popular drama         Dill Mill Gayye.

DMG was the teen romantic Comedy drama set in the backdrop of a hospital which deals with lives of young doctors and is also a semi-sequel to Star Plus drama,Sanjivani. He plays Dr. Abhimanyu Modi who joined in as the new COS of the hospital to solve a financial crisis the hospital is facing. The new COS of Sanjeevani, he is here to solve the financial crisis faced by the hospital. He fires Dr. Keerthi as a result of budget cuts and seems to rub the interns in the wrong way with his brash manner.

He was in love with a Nikita Malhotra (portrayed by Shweta Gulati).

And later became good friends with Karan Wahi who has played his younger brother in the show.

 He also worked in Vikram Bhat show for sony tv "Shurat Nafrat Aur Showbiz"

 where he plays the role of bollywood superstar dev.

He performed in the Indian telly awards 2009 with Sara khan on twist(love aj kal).He was also there on an episode of Laughter Ke Phatke.

After DMG he had done a stage show in Agra as well'..

 Popularly known as Dr. Abhimanyu of Star One' Amit Tandon 's Dill Mill Gayye  came back in a new avatar!! He was seen hosting UTV Bindass' new season of Dadagiri.. Since January 15, 2011, he was the host of the reality show Dadagiri Season 4 UTV Bindass.

UTV Dadagiri which had a unique concept last season was shot at Manali. This time the show was titled 'Dadagiri ' Revenge of the Sexes'. The shoot has taken place in the locales of Goa with the handsome hunk Amit Tandon hosting it.

Star Plus' Star Parivaar Awards that was organized in Venetian Macau turned out to be a grand gala affair!! Viewers now await the airing of the five build-up properties started from 28th March to 3rd April. As we know, there was  a special episode 'Hum Toh Chale Pardes' on 2nd April between 6-7 PM, Shubh Aagman On April 3rd, and the classic Red Carpet on 3rd April.

Ashita Dhavan aka Malti Bhabhi of Bidaai and Amit Tandon hosted the special episodes of Hum Toh Chale Pardes and Shubh Aagman. They both took the whole Parivaar on the Macau tour and enlightened one and all with the beautiful destinations".

They hosted the Red Carpet episode too where they were seen having a heart-to heart talk with the celebrities.

He is married to Dr. Ruby Tandon who is a trainee doctor from Vancouver, Canada.His wife Ruby gave birth to a baby girl in Canada on 30 June 2010.The couple have named the baby Jiyana.

 He idolizes Akshay Kumar andSalman Khanfrom Bollywood and Ronit Roy from television.

He has a birthday on 11th April 1979

And his sun sign is Aries.
