Alright, so, to get back on topic, and excuse me if this sounds like full of BS as i'm running late for sth, I think we should do a bit of defining things first so that we can have a concrete premise to go off of. For starters, what is good acting? How can you tell to what degree someone is acting and to what degree he is just being himself? I mean, how do you really quantify "acting"? What is the right way of acting? Can someone ever fully immerse into the character he is playing? Or does it work 50/50 like half of him is himself and the other half is the character? What's the right scale?Me personally, I think good acting is when I am able to see past the stardom of the guy playing the character and see the character for the character alone and nothing else. Convincing acting would be a good acting. When the guy playing a certain role convinces that it's not him but the role he's playing, he's acting and really well at that.
That said, I do think Salman has had a fair share of movies where he actually played the role and not himself. Those movies would be Maine Pyar Kiya, Andaaz Apna Apna, Hum Aapke Hai Kaun, Karan Arjun, Tere Naam, and some others I don't remember the name of. Just that I think he's shifted his attention from acting to stardom now and that's why I fail to see the "act" in his acting these days.
Hopefully that makes up for derailing the thread with my explanations to Billa..lol..
Bye now.
