Geet DID do the right thing .. and epsecially when she tells Maan that she cannot bear his insults.. that should've answered everything..

She did the right thing as it is the duty of a daughter to convince her family about her husband... no woman would like that her hubby's name is tarnished in her maternal home... plus Geet has suffered lonliness in the past due to her troubled/ false marriage... so it makes sense when she refused to go with Maan.
