This in response to the shocking piece of news that I read in the CCBM forum last day.
I just chanced to read that the CCBM is heading to a new track:
… pulling out Viren from Nivren relationship and reviving the Niviarth relationship, and Viren finding a new girl instead of Nivi …!!!!
It sounds blasphemous… !!!
Have the CCBM gone insane ???
How can you ever conceive of such ridiculous ideas of re-uniting married and consummated Nivi (with Viren still alive and both very much in love with each other) with her former lover Sidharth (though a widower now) ???
First of all it questions the sanctity of marriage. Though the rate of separation is escalating we cannot but admit that we are quite traditional and hold many conventions and institutions like marriage close to our heart with all its purity and solemnity. We safeguard our familial relations which is the foundation of civilized human society.
I strongly believe that
'Holy matrimony is not something to be trifled with.'
Hope Dadasaheb and Vandana would comprehend the crisis and find a solution: a good wife (unlike Divya who is narrow-minded, credulous, self-centred, and often overstressing her husband) for Sidharth, and relieve Nivi of the duty of taking care of Dwita. Nivi should resume her work at office with Viren, which help to wean her from the baby.
Even then Nivi's problem will not be solved easily. Though she will be happy that Sidharth gets a companion, she will not be happy to part with Dwita. She will be anxious whether the new girl / others will take proper care of the child. Dwita is so close to her heart. There is no wonder if she denies having a baby of her own. She wants to give the child undivided love and attention.
Above all, Nivi staunchly believes she can do penance to the crime committed (indirectly responsible for Divya's death) only by looking after the child herself for it is she who has deprived it the child of mother's love.
We know Nivi is one who always prioritizes others' happiness over hers. So Nivi can never forgive herself for what has happened to Divya: shattering all the hopes of Hemalathachachi, making Sidharth feel lonely and above all, depriving the innocent babe of its mother. She will never receive respite from Hemalatha's curse.
Even when there was a rumour that one of the leading female characters would be killed in a bomb blast I was apprehensive and concerned about Viren, fearing will it be Nivi. Viren needs unstinted love and support from a character like Nivi. The sense of insecurity that he had had in his childhood will haunt him, and under unfavourable circumstances he will exhibit the complex of inferiority again. So the exit of Nivi from Viren's life portends his ruin.
If Nivi had died in the blast it would perhaps been a graceful exit for her. Though Chanchal and Hemalatha, who always plot against her, will feel triumphant and will not have any compunction at all. Chanchal will get rid of her daughter-in-law, and Hemalatha will have the way clear for her daughter, Divya with Sidharth's full attention on her; she always suspected Nivi will get close to him, and feared Nivi has an eye on their wealth.
It will not be right to conclude the serial without exposing the conspiracies and intrigues involved in it. Jawahar's hand in Sidharth's father's death, unjust accusations against Keshav Sharma, selfish motives of Hemalatha, wiles of wicked Chanchal, etc. Otherwise, there will be no poetic justice. Our hope that truth will ultimately triumph will be thwarted.
Only Viren's dark side has been brought to light. That's splendidly done. . .!!!
This provides the character the scope to grow and evolve unlike most of the other one-sided, flat dimensional figures of the serial. Nivedita is his childhood love. Unaware of her identity he rescues her from quite a few distressful situations. Bumping into each other, Viren, a vulnerable person but spunky outwardly develops a soft corner for the poor middle-class girl. The feelings of love get complicated when he realises she is the one whom he has been seeking to wreak vengeance on. Whatever his actual motive (beguile her with his cunning wiles) is, when he professes his love for her and seeks her hand in marriage it is undeniable that he does truly love her, for he very much needs the love and support of the self-effacing Nivedita. Inwardly he is so sensitive and unprotected unlike the gallant hero who steals the hearts of the viewers. The complexity of the character is well highlighted by the sterling performance of Kinshuk Mahajan. He expresses even the minute nuances of the various emotions of love, affection, hate, anger, resentment, good humour, etc. Good Luck to this young actor.
Neha Sargam also deserves a word of appreciation for her performance of Nivedita's role. Good Luck to the budding actress. Besides Viren's character, it is Nivedita's that shows evolvement: from a shy, timid girl she grows into a confident character. Silently nursing the pain of her shattered dreams, and then having a 'roller-coaster-ride' ending up with tying the knot with Viren, she emotes well with her tear-stained, sparkling eyes and innocent smiles. She bears no one a grudge; having grown with pain and loss, she is reconciled to her lot. Though weighed down with sorrow, she finds joy in others' happiness. With patience, grit and unconditional love she wins the heart of every one save the cold-blooded manipulative Hemalatha and Chanchal. Yasodhara who was hostile at the beginning becomes convinced of her goodness.
There is no denying of the fact that a wonderful chemistry works between Nivi and Viren. It is this that carried this serial so far.
CCBM has hitherto been an emotionally taut story but in the recent episodes you see too many happenings with little emotion.
The director, producer or script-writer has the liberty to depict characters or events according to their whim and fancy. They can experiment with novel ideas. That's welcome too, for they are also the reformers of society. But they should not take for granted the moral sense of humanity.
So here is an earnest plea:
Please DO NOT attempt to DISUNITE Viren and Nivi,
who have realised the meaning of love and the need for each other through the various moments of pain, joy, comfort and companionship, and who have, rendering the exquisitely beautiful scene of the 'Re-Unite' and 'Consummation' won our hearts.
I pray that this petition be read by CT. Please consider positively the feelings expressed by this ardent viewer of Chand Chupa Badal Mein.
Please Don't Break Our Hearts.
I'm afraid whether we are wasting our precious time watching demoralising soaps.
