Concept:

Priya is a happy go lucky woman in her early 30s .. not married so far .. and has dealt with life so far .. she takes tuitions of college students and is very sure that she will not be able to get married ever …. She is happy with her world.. her NGO works …etc etc

Ram Kapoor ..a wealthy man in his early 40s … a ruthless entrepreneur who also believes that he has missed the bus of marriage ..

Complete contrast ram and priya are.. their personalities are poles apart. If one is a wasp the other is like a butterfly, one is air the other is water…one is a Scorpio, the other, a Gemini ..

Both of them have their own complexities ..

While Ram's best pal, Vikram, has been nagging him to get him married, .on the other side, Priya's father has been adamant on getting her married as well to an extent that every time he sees a suitable boy for his daughter, he imagines a sehraa over that boy.

There is a queue of suitors lined up to marry Priya, but most of them are over aged…The are like uncles to her. Some are bald, some have kids, some are divorcees and some widowers. Priya is fed up with such "prospective" grooms who are more interested in marrying girls younger than her. Priya's father is under stress wondering as to when will she ever get married, although her mother isn't that bothered by it. She prefers Priya to stay with her because she is the sole earner of the family. Priya has a younger brother who thinks otherwise. He feels that Priya will ruin her own life for the family.

Whereas, Raam, has, all his life been around his step family. His priority has been to take care of the family and willingly left out the thought of even getting married. He is just not in it anymore and his step mother and step-siblings have no objection to his decision of not marrying.

Both Raam and Priya were set and sorted with their decision of not marrying and had already moved on. Neither Ram nor Priya ever thought that they could get married eventually until that moment when destiny bumps them into each other through a minor car accident which hurts their egos more than their vehicles.. and then after a series of miscommunications and misunderstanding they soon realize that their siblings are in love with each other .. raam s crazy sister "nutz" and priya s idealistic brother "kartik" are in love . nutz wants to marry kartik and raam has no option but to ask for kartik s hand from priya …. He believes that priya s family is gold digger and priya believes that I will have to entertain this rich man only till my brother gets married .. although slowly they start seeing real sides of each other .. a certain respect builds up .. and another twist comes in the story as kartik declares he will not marry till his sister priya is married and settled ..

Raam takes responsibility of getting priya married ..but raam s step mother , with her personal motives , comes with an idea that raam only should get married to priya .. step mother's intentions are simple and clear that wherever her daughter will go, the daughter of that house will come here just to ensure that her daughter is safe and secured. ..also if any rich girl will get married to ram , she will dominate ram and niharika, the step mother is not willing to let go her hold on ram s life .. ram is told to get married to priya

raam is reluctant .. but rest of the world forces him to be ready and he loves his sister so much that he has no option but to say yes .. on the other hand , priya decides to go ahead with this marriage due to peer pressure from her glamour crazy mother ,shipra ..

Preparation for the marriage has begun and it's chaos with the rituals and engagement which barely gives Ram and Priya time to know each other before they tie the knot. .. nutz and kartik are full on with festivities of their own wedding .. and happens a strike in ram s companies and indirectly priya's facebook status and her article on safety hazards in factories is responsible for it .. if nutz kartik element was responsible for ram priya wedding , this factory element can put this wedding for a toss .. Raam's best friend, Vikram, has no idea about this. ..

big drama .. will vikram spill the beans.. but vikram knows that is Raam doesn't marry now, he never will, and thus, he doesn't reveal the truth. Raam and Priya are married now and so has Kartik and Nutz. ..

The journey of an arrange marriage as well as love marriage now begins with Raam-Priya and Kartik- Nutz, respectively. Both the couples are completely different from each other.

Will Raam and Priya ever come close to each other?

Will they become friends?

Will love blossom between the two?

Will the strike in Raam's factory drive them away from each other?

Will Raam and Priya realize that arrange marriages not only unites two people and their love for each other but also their respective families?

all the answers to above questions will form the further story of bade acche lagte hai ..

Ram Kapoor

He is the eldest son of his family. After his father's death it is he who had to take the responsibility of the business as well as the home. A very straight, no nonsense guy. Ram has his ideologies of life clearly laid down. He is in his early 40's and has this notion that he isn't fit to marry now as now he is too comfortable with his own company and doesn't need anyone to share his space with. Ram is into his business and looks after every little thing that his family needs. A complete metropolitan rich bachelor. He is shrewd and a little cold at times, not because he is not sensitive to other people's feelings but more because he hasn't opened up to anyone apart from his childhood friend. Ram doesn't have too many friends. He doesn't believe in socialising at page three parties, rather he believes in escalating his business empire to unreachable heights. Puts his family before everything. His mother is at the center of his life. Not a typical mummy's boy but rather respects his mother to the heights of devotion and cannot say no to her.

Priya Sharma

Mature, in her early 30's, a person who cares for her family, with an identity of her own.

She has her own set of ideologies in life which she wouldn't give up for anyone. A very

level headed female who likes to read rather than going out to party with her friends.

Takes tuition to support her family. Priya is a social activist as well, working with an

reputed NGO. Is comfortable with her own self and feels that she doesn't need anyone

to complete her life but still her family is after her to get married, so they try and make

her meet with prospective grooms. She has given up on the hope to get married herself

but is a firm believer in love and all the rosy things attached to it.

Priya Sharma's Character Sketch In Bade Acche Laggte Hain

An unmarried mature female in her early 30's, who cares for her family but at the same time, knows how to be her. She has her own set of ideologies in life which she wouldn't give up for anyone. A very level headed female who likes to read rather than going out to party with her friends. Priya takes tuitions to support her family, is a social activist as well and works with a reputed NGO. She is comfortable with her own self and feels that she doesn't need anyone to complete her life but still her family is after her to get married, so they try and make her meet with prospective grooms. She has given up on the hope to get married herself but is a firm believer in love and all the rosy things attached to it.

Not a perfectionist when it comes to appearance wears whatever comes her way if she is comfortable in the clothes. Loves coffee and chocolates, complete foodies she is, does not believe in diets but is a big fan of yoga and aerobics. She wears glasses, as she reads a lot. She tries to learn a new word of English every day.

Priya is a fun loving, bindaas, happy go lucky woman. Humor runs in her veins, can laugh at the drop of the hat. She sees lighter side of things and that gives her strength to carry on in life. Priya believes that God has created this world with lots of illogical theorems, so why to find logic in every little thing. Fun, dhamaal, masti, she loves it all. She is pretty updated about all the new singers in the industry.

Priya loves to observe people during ganpati, navratri and other festivals, and believes that there must be a story behind every face. She can never find faults in anybody, likes everyone she comes across. A firm believer that Romance exists only in movies, but also believes that moment is not important, the feeling after the moment is important. She would want someone who would know everything about her likes and dislikes, fears, etc. but also realizes that the time has run out.

An avid follower of IPL, Priya is crazy for cricket and watches it with sheer fun and passion. She is technologically challenged, is extremely bad at handling gadgets and strongly believes that every new gadget comes up with a motive of disconnecting human 'connect'.

He has this notion that he is not fit to marry now as he is too comfortable with his own company and doesn't need anyone to share his space with. He is completely into his business and looks after every little thing that his family needs. A complete metropolitan rich bachelor, shrewd and a little cold at times not because he is not sensitive to other people's feeling but because he has not opened up with anyone that much apart from his childhood best friend. He does not have too many friends and does not even believe in socializing in page three parties. Ram puts his family before everything and his step mother is the center of his life. He is not a typical mamma's boy but respects his step mother to the heights of devotion and cannot deny her for anything.

Ram is excessively perfect when it comes to appearance, dressed always in perfect combination of suites and ties. Loves drinking tea and has got a sweet tooth. But when it comes to exercising, he only believes in exercising his mind by keeping it up to date with facts and figures of stock market by heart, but physical exercises are a complete no-no. Discipline is like breathing to Ram, looks for discipline in everything right from morning alarm to eating to daily chores. To the extent he hates public processions and festivals because he believes they cause too much of indiscipline.

Ram has absolutely no sense of humor as he keeps looking for logic in everything. Actually he is quite worried about it also and tries to bring out the lighter side of him but always fails. Ram knows it is tough to make people laugh but does not understand that it's his 'logic' issue which has taken away humor from his life. Never tell anyone but he loves old hindi songs and his favorite singer is Mohammad Aziz.

A total gadget freak, Ram has every latest gadget in his collection. He gets very engrossed in them and feels at home with the gadgets. He buys lot of expensive books and CDs but never gets time of leisure to read or watch them. Ram does not like watching cricket as he thinks is just waste of time but is interested to know how the game spins so much of money.

I am looking forward to this show.The promos look fresh esp the snoring one😆I like both the charachters in the show...Hope kekta mai doesnt make this like her other shows😆I ahvent seen any of her shows before but still fingers crossed

About the Show:

Bade Acche Laggte Hai is the story of two strangers getting married … and falling in love. Priya is a happy go lucky woman in her early 30s, not married so far and quite sure that she wouldn't be able to get married ever. She takes tuitions for college students and is happy with the world.
