Part 26:
After Nivi's dance last night. Viren was wondering how much more she could do that he had no idea of. He thought she was just good at household work but she proved it wrong by excelling in the office tasks. Moreover, she took care of babies too and she did things like dancing and singing too. She was a whole package and he enjoyed it. He brushed her hair as she hugged him before going downstairs to begin her daily chores. She had so much to do but he thought he could do it in a smaller amount of time. Everyone was out of the house today. There was a pooja and most of the oldies had left for it while the younger generation had gone out for Naintara dadi's house. They were alone and Viren like he usually does was all up for the challenge and wanted to spend as much time as possible with her but what did Nivi do well she handed both the babies to him and told him to take care of them while she finished her work.
That's when he blurted out that he could do the work better in a small amount of time unlike her. She smiled and said oh really before taking the babies again and giving him a cloth and telling him that she bets that he would have to do all her tasks today and prove it. Viren was kind of shocked with how she had responded. he looked around at the messed up kitchen and thought about how he could prove himself right. Nivi smiled and sat on the stool waiting for him to begin. He nodded and told himself Viren you and your big mouth now look what you have got yourself into.
Nivi played with the children and occasionally looked up at him but he hadn't started yet. "Kya hua" she asked, "shuru karne se pehle hi haar gaye". He shook his head and responded saying "mujhe kya milega yeh sab karke, matlab ki tumhe mujhe kuch toh dena hai" he said with his cheeky smile. Before saying, "agar mene yeh sab kuch karke dikaya toh tum mujhe teen, nahi nahi panch kisses do gi aur woh bhi yehan he siad pointing to his lips. Teek hai???". She thought about the offer but she knew he would never get it done so she nodded in agreement. He grinned looking at the clock. He looked at the list Nivi had given as to what he had to get done. First, was cleaning the kitchen. It didn't look so easy. So he began wiping the desk filled with flour. Then he washed all the dishes and wiped them before stacking them on the floor.
Next he put all the remaining food from breakfast into small containers which can be distributed to the servants when they went home. Nivi looked to see Viren working hard and she was really surprised at how much he had got done within the extra hour. She shied thinking of her promise and feared what would happen so she slowly went behind and knocked over a pile of plastic plates that were kept on the side. They toppled over and rolled along the floor. Viren turned back to see them all over the place. He looked at Nivi with an evil grin. She smiled and said "dekh kya rahe ho jao sab ko utao". he slowly picked them up and then she complained that they were dirty so he washed and dried them to.
Nivi put the babies in the cot in the hall before following Viren to the roof. He slowly put all the clothes to dry on the line where Nivi kept removing some clips and making him late again. Then he ran down to the garden with Nivi following him. He watered all the plants where Nivi kept turning off the tap until he said the later she made him the higher she will punish her and she grinned before staying quietly.
He was running back to the kitchen. Now was the hard part he needed to cook lunch. He remembered some dishes that he used to prepare when he was in Delhi for college. He smiled and started cutting and before long lunch was served. Nivi shied on the side and knew he had won the bet. He slowly laid out the table as one by one the family members arrived. They all tasted Viren's food and complimented Nivi but she said that Viren had made it. Everyone laughed saying you have a hidden talent Viren.
Nivi slowly placed the babies in the cot when she felt Viren's grasp around her waist. She struggled to get free and she knew he was here for his gift. She shied. He waited for her to give it to him. She couldn't think straight, her breathing was becoming rapid, the heart beating fast. she watched him look at her with eagerness. She closed her eyes and slowly allowed herself to get forward. She kissed him once but Viren didn't let her go and by the time they did she had to gasp for air. So she knew his plan she had to give him four more extremely long kisses. He licked his lips to taste the strawberry lipstick he had been waiting for and waited eagerly for more. When there was a knock on the door and saw VD coming in with some halwa that they had got from Naintara dadi's house. She smiled and said "Viren tumhare mooh par ketchup laga hai kya" as she wiped it off. Nivi blushed and VD understood and quickly left the room unwilling to disturb them any further.
He moved closer and again her heart was racing a mile a minute as their lips met. He let go and now Nivi was dark red. By the next kiss, Nivi was falling in his arms unable to keep herself up. She gripped onto him and she kissed him again. By the final kiss all of the remaining lipstick on Nivi's lips were transferred to Viren's. She was blushing a lot now and could not bear to look in his eyes. She felt his fingers crawl along her back as she accepted defeat and surrendered herself into his arms.
