Part 13:
Nivi stood in front of the mirror in the bathroom and looked at herself. She was wearing the red strapless but pretty short dress that she had been gifted by Naintara dadi once. When Nivi was in college she used to see many of her friends wearing one and had a desire to buy one but she never told anyone. Dadi however found out from Yash and had gifted her one. The dress had been in her cupboard gor a long time in her house until she bought it after marriage to keep it as a reminder of her college days. But it come in use today, she would prove to Viren that she was not shy when she wore such things and that she could stand in front of him and still be confident. Then she looked at herself and her cheeks blossomed red. Her heart said that she didn't need to do it but her mind said to show Viren what she is. It was not only his comment but there were a few other incidents which made her come to this decision. Firstly, she had read through a magazine Viren was looking at the other day and she had seen it was full of different models wearing small dresses like these. The new business colleagues were old and so they had left their daughters in charge and today Viren had especially escorted them to the door after Viren's naming ceremony. She kept her fear inside and walked out in her high heels that she had recieved from her friends once into the bedroom and noticed that Viren had not arrived yet so she decided to wait.
It was over half an hour before Viren entered the room and shut the door. Before he turned around and let out a huge gasp. Nivi was furious - why had it taken him so long? She was standing and walking towards him in such big heels that she almost tripped over when Viren held her but she was too angry to think about that. She pushed him behind and pulled his collar. "Dekho Mr Viren Sood, aaj tu ne niche kya kaha sab ke saamne ki me tumhare samne shy hoon well dekho nahi hoon main shy". she said as she kept walking back. Viren banged into the cupboard and Nivi still didn't let go. "Tumhe kya lagta mujhe ki mujhe pata nahi he ki tum subha subha kya padte ho magazine mein, well mene woh sare models ko dekh li aur phir woh colleagues ki betiyaan, usse bhi tum bohot baat karne lage ho" she said in a huff. Before she stepped back and folded her arms waiting for the reply.
But Viren didn't reply, he was in shock to see her in this manner. She was so beautiful he thought. He knew she was lying about not being shy, her face was blossoming red and she kept tugging at the dress to pull it down but it would never move. He smiled seeing her being jealous at him. She was uncomfortable. Viren took off a jacket and came close and wrapped it around her. He traced the frown on her face and said "Niveditha, tumhe bata hai joh me woh magazines me dekta tha woh khubsoorat he nahi hain aur woh colleagues ki betiyaan bhi. Kyunki un sab ko ek cheez nahi hai jo tumhare paas hai". Niveditha looked at him questioningly. He smiled and took her in front of the mirror and said yeh sharmindaghi. She shied and her cheeks turned red again. Yehi hai woh cheez jho tumhe un sab se alag karti hai aur tumhari khusoorati ko aur badathi hai". "such, Viren" He nodded and turned her around to take a look at her.
He looked with a mischevious smile. Her heart began to beat faster. She shut her eyes firm. She could feel Viren near her and each touch sent chills down her body. She could hear his heartbeat and his breath. She was turning even more read as Viren traced her face and she shivered. He was coming closer and Nivi was nervous. Then sudddenly there was a loud cry. Both of them snapped out to see the babies looking at them in teary eyes.
Half an hour had passed before they put the babies to sleep and Viren noticed that Nivi was so tired that she had dozed off with Nidhi on the bed. he slowly placed the children in the cot and carried Niveditha and placed her properly on the bed. He took off her shoes and folded the blanket before switching off the lights and going to sleep.
It was morning and Viren was in the shower. The children were downstairs with their great grandparents. Nivi was cleaning and organizing the room. Viren wanted to get her back for falling asleep last night so he had purposely left the tshirt outside on the bed and called Nivi from the bathroom. "haan Viren kyu bola rahe ho", "Niveditha maine meri shirt wahan bed par rakh dhi de dona please", "haan ayi"
Viren waited a few minutes before there was a knock on the door. He slowly opened the door and a hand appeared with the shirt. He didn't take a second chance and pulled the hand in and closed the door quickly before he turned around and let out a huge gasp.
