The day the new writers came their attitude of showing Dev as hero cost the series Geet big big time:

Only to use Sameer Sharma as "Dev" they ruined everything they had earned till date:

Even now the Dev nandini track despite for few minutes is still eating up the excitement and adding to frustation,just becoz the actress in her acts of asking to get pampered and calling for attention is a punishment to watch.

Add to it irritating mamaji and lucky and now his girlfriend,seems like Mahesh Pandey has nothing more to deliver and he infact had nothing to deliver ever since he came up with his pathetic Amritsar track which was a big big flop show just becoz Mahesh and Nageen failed to live the spirit of 'Maaneet love" and the connectivity of the characters with audiences,with continous reports of Geet coming to end one feels the production house was rather blackmailing the audiences to watch what they are getting or speak up and call for Geet ending,as if they were doing a favour to the multi million fan following of "Maaneet".

Geet will certainly go down as a case where a dieng series was kept alive by fans and their love for the leads.

If ever Geet is remembered and if ever one ananlysis why Geet was such a trauma after "Maaneet wedding it would be just one reason and it is Sameer Sharma as Dev.

God knows who informed Gul Khan that his track was loved and followed,but the fact is there were many options and simple logical ways of presenting Geet in a much better manner,had the instructions be clear that the story will revolve around "Maaneet Romance" and nothing else.

Ever since Mahesh Pandey came in,there has been a constant effort in his writing to involve Dev in every thing.

1) Starting with the scenes after miscarriage where "Dev" was shown to have better understanding of geet than "Maan"...

His intent was never justified so neither his act,nor Geet forgiving him and now his new love story is felt as irritating and many to feel sorry for the makers that instead of concentrating on the USP of the show "Maan and Geet" they concentrating more on Dev only to realise that their desire to make full use of the contract they had signed with Sameer Sharma to act as Dev will only result in premature end of series,loss of TRP's and most importantly

"Desire to use Sameer Sharma as Dev wud result in series Geet loosing everything they had earned till date."

2) After the MC track and Dev potrayed as hero and better than Maan,came the theme of the show destroying act where:

a) Geet lost its connection with majority of the audiences after she was shown playing holi with her rapist.

b) Geet allowing Dev to touch her and she herself applying tikka.

c) Geet misunderstanding Maan for an act where she was entirely responsible

d) Dev giving lecture to Maan

e) A complete mess made for build up of new "Amritsar track" only to use few dates of Sameer Sharma as "Dev"..

Certainly everything the new writers designed was around "Dev" who was not needed and if they had to build a track around him then shud have kept his presence to minimum.

3) Dev's role yet again in "Amritsar track" where acts like:

a) Geet completely ok with "Dev's presence" and the manner in which "Geet" was shown behaving comfortably with "Dev" made many feel the writers and the makers have lost it in a big big manner.

b) Dev as Maan and the Nandini track,I mean why they had to use "Dev" as Maan in first place and then when they cud have shown him suffering for being "Maan" they are busy showing his love story which is even more down grading the over all quality of the series.

The fact is "Just to use Sameer Sharma" as "Dev" and use his dates and contract,makers sacrificed everything:

a) From theme of the story which was based on real life social issue and got many connected to the show...( Holi scene, a big disaster for the series)

b) "Maaneet's unique relationship and their "characters" ( when geet and maan were shown normal with dev without dev's intent to pay back shown and without proper justification from writers for Geet forgiving Dev)

c)With Dev and Nandini love story,they are sacrificing the ethics which the show had developed for itself and it seems just to use the contract dates,makers are all set to themselves push the series "geet" to an end where one feels if the makers and producers are serious enough to take the series forward or are more interested in their new venture on star plus.

All one can say is:

"Dev is a bigger hero,becoz he first ruined "Geet's life as a character" and show got TRP's and has now ruined and made sure the series is burried till end " With writers concentrating more on illogical tracks involving Dev" only to use Sameer Sharma's contract dates as "Dev".

"Geet" will be always remembered as an example of how suicidal makers and creatives can get ensuring that their series is not only forgotten but is also tabooed to remember.

From theme destroying act of "holi" sequence which was written and designed to involve "Dev" to " Character killing acts of "Geet" which were also a result of writers desire to show more and more of "Dev"...

One can conclude that a mere desire to use dates of "Sameer Sharma" as "Dev" makers ignored everything from "Theme of the Story" to " Characters of Maan and geet" to actors " Drashti and Gurmeet" just for one man and one desire:

" Make full use of Sameer Sharma as Dev."
