For a moment, I thought the "it" was the man singing sonnets to his wife comparing her to the moon (the reference to sonnets is courtesy Opti's post yesterday). I was reminded of the movies from the earlier years in which they would depict shayari sessions going on well into the night and a lantern or lamp burning away.
So, the options would indicate:
- Yes, ofcourse- The lamp dimmed, didnt it = The shayari went on well into the night.
- No, ofcourse not- No shy blushing bride here = The shayari did not happen. So, the bride did not blush because she did not hear sonnets sung in praise of her and comparing her to the moon.
