46. NEW CASE (2)
Aaryan immediately rushed to the interrogation room.
Aaryan: Aapka naam kya hain?
"Myra…Myra Shroff…."
Deepika: Aap please bata sakti hain kya hua tha?
The woman nodded.
"Main Focus Agency for Human Resources main assistant ka kaam karti hoon. Shantanu Singhania owns-owned the company…He was the directing Manager…We used to work together, despite our level differences…..Wo ek bahut hi passionate aadmi hain….He worked hard for the company, often late into the night…..Kal raat bhi shayad wo der raat tak ruka tha…..Main jab subah aayi toh-"
She revisited the horrible scenario in her mind's eye.
"Shantanu, aap itni jaldi?"
She nodded her head… "Horrible….horrible……."
Deepika nodded her head.
"Ajay, inka address note kar lo. Aap shehar chod ke mat jaie. Agar kisi cheez ki jaroorat pade toh hum aapko bula sakte hain. Thank you."
Myra went out of the office.
Crime scene
(SS music with Ajay, Shotgun, Rajashree and Aaryan on the crime scene.)
The body is lying in the middle of the table, in a pool of blood.
"Shotgun, kya lagta hain?"
"Time of death, 10 ghante pehle, atleast. Shayad iss ghaav ke wajah se death hui hain."
Aaryan looked at his watch. It was 9 am.
Time of Death: 11 pm
He pointed to a deep slit at the throat. "Aaryan, ye dekh rahe ho?"
His hand hovered over the face.
"Bruises. Colour se toh lagta hain 11 se 12 ghante pehle ke hain." Rajashree observed.
Rajashree and Shotgun began their forensic investigation in the room.
"Ajay, kuch mila?"
He pointed to the watchman.
"Salaam sahib. Main Krishna, nighwatchman."
Aaryan looked at him patiently. "Kal raat yahaan koi aaya tha?"
"Nahi sahib. Kal raat koi nahi aaya tha."
"Kya tum jaante the ki Singhania yahaan there the?"
"Haan, saab ghar nahi gaye the, ye main jaanta tha. Par isme koi aisi badi baat nahi thi. We aksar aisa karte hain."
"Hmm…theek hain. Shehar chod ke mat jaana. Agar kisi aur cheez ki jaroorat ho to hum tumhe bula sakte hain."
Discussion table
"Shantanu Singhania. 33 years old. Unmarried. Owns a successful Human Resources company. No financial troubles whatsoever. Kal raat uska khoon ho jata hain."
Aaryan was pacing up and down, oblivious to Deepika's gaze.
Deepika was determined not to instruct him today. She ignored his pacing. "Hum pehle autopsy shuru karte hain, baad main dekhte hain."
"Okay, Deepika tum autopsy shuru kar do."
"Neha, iske bare main jo kuch bhi information milti hain….Ajay, uske office….Guys,get to work!"
Neha nodded, getting Aaryan's meaning. "Jo kuch bhi information milti hain…..jaisi bhi-legal illegal tarike se" was silent, but after years with Aaryan, Neha could tell easily.
Everyone hurried off to their respective tasks.
Ajay went over to Neha's cubicle for a minute. "Neha jo main subah keh raha tha na..Dinner-"
"Kisi aur din kar lenge Ajay. Ab jao mujhe bahut kaam hain." She added the second sentence unnecessarily.
"Aaryan!"
"Yes Deepika?"
"Junhui kahaan hain?"
"Uska phone aaya that subah. Aaj off liya hain, kal aa jayegi."
47. NEW CASE (3)
Focus- Human Resources' Office
Aaryan was talking to the receptionist.
Ajay was now conversing with different staff members.
Some minutes later, they came together to share the info they had collected.
"Aaryan, isski pyari si receptionist ne mujhe kya bataya hoga?" Without waiting for Aaryan's response, he continued, "Ye Shantanu jitna lagta hain na, utna bhola bhala nahi hain. Guess what? Uske pichle saal teen affairs ho chue hain, aur is baar wo Myra ke peeche haath dho ke pada tha!"
"Kya? Myra ke?"
"Aur Lil Miss Perfect, yaani Myra ko iska andaza bhi nahi tha." Ajay concluded with a jesting smile on his face.
"Myra ke bare main kya pata chala?"
"Varanasi se hain. She is very…um….vulnerable, I guess. That would be the only word to describe her." Ajay said thoughtfully.
Aaryan looked at him with raised eyerows. New dimensions to the case, indeed….
