He's just danced his way into the
Guinness Book of Records by choreographing 1,336 people to a Bollywood
song in an hour, and now Terence Lewis with Mumbai Mirror followed it up
with yet another mammoth showing in front of a packed Shanmukhananda
auditorium on Sunday evening.
The show also saw a masterly performance from the man himself to a remixed version of the hit song Pee loon from Once Upon A Time in Mumbaai. One of the highlights of the evening was an auction of two of Terence's 'favouritest' jackets, including a black leather one, which he wore on Khatron Ke Khiladi. Proceeds for which went for the much needed operation of 18-year-old Soni Singh, to correct the deformity in her legs and for the brain surgery of Tukaram Sarode. "In India, there are a lot of people who require our help. While it's not possible to help everyone, we can certainly help a few people. In the next season of Dance Camp, I want her to be here, walking and smiling on this very stage," said Terence to roaring applause. One notable addition this year was the inclusion of a new class, exclusively for senior citizens. "This is actually a movement rather than a class. There are no charges for it and Terence himself teaches these seniors. They will be performing at next year's finale," said a spokesperson from the Terence Lewis Academy. Earlier in the evening, it was foot tapping stuff for the audience as all the students of the sixth edition of Dance Camp from kids as young as four to ladies in their sixties performed in seamless sessions with their assigned groups, a logistical feat in itself that was coordinated by 60 special instructors who manned centres spread from Vasai to Colaba. In Terence's words it was a 'chummeshwari performance'. |
