Socialism vs Communism!

How different are socialism vs communism? Aren't both the system based of public ownership!  Do you prefer to be a liberal vs conservative?

To me they are both ideological doctrines and have more similarities vs differences!

capitalism owns all. socialists and commies can bite me.

Capitalism is on one end of the spectrum, communism is on the other. Socialism falls somewhere in between the middle and communism.

There are plenty of similarities, but the differences are fundamental. Communism cannot coexist with market economy, but socialism can.

Agree, though socialism falls more towards communism then capitalism!

To me both the systems focus on equality for the people. They both strive to eliminate private owner-ship and believe that everything should be government owned instead of privately owned.

There are plenty of similarities, but the differences are fundamental. Communism cannot coexist with market economy, but socialism can.


If this is the case then the countries like China, US and India are suffering the most, due to the lack of system and clear fundamentals.

To address your points/questions

1. Yes, socialism is more close to communism. It is left of center.

2. Socialism actually is not against private ownership. Private enterprise can still exist under socialism. Capitalism tends to discredit labor and communism tends to discredit capital. Socialism tries to balance the two. There is more emphasis on collective enterprise like cooperative farming, employee owned businesses. However, socialism does tend to lean unfairly in favor of labor. I personally prefer socialism that is more towards the center than far left of center.

3. As a teenager I was very conservative and staunchly capitalistic. As I grew up I discovered several serious flaws and unfair practices in capitalism. I feel ethically and morally better about my own consciousness being more liberal (socially and fiscally). Thats not to say other world views don't have their merit.

4. China's problem is authoritarian government, people have no say. India's problem is corruption. USA's problem is corporations lacking governance (USA is mostly capitalistic with some social welfare programs). European nations like France, Germany, the Nordic nations and Canada are examples of functional socialism balanced with market economies.

As a Ex socialist/communist believer,I understand one thing that,socialism and communism is nothing...everybody want power and money...and religion teaching us...heaven there are beautiful girls who always remain fixed for eternity at the age of sixteen, n thy are especially to serve the people who come into paradise...wow... Now, what are the poor people going to do? ...paradise, rivers are not of water but of wine...again... The poor people have never tasted wine...they will die of thirst cos water is not available at all...and politicians are afraid...thy want the world to remain divided into poor and rich...the gurus/priests and other holy ppl want the world to be divided into classes...thy are the powerful people...I strongly feel that power should be in the hands of the best ...only then we can hope something good can come out of it.😊
