I opened the glass door and walked in, there was
decoration done around the room, of
balloons and banners.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!!! My friends screamed.
It was AIsha, rishi and my other friend."Sorry
Arjun we wanted to surprise you, I know you have been busy lately."It was
true Arjun had forgotten his own birthday; he did not want to celebrate it.
"Thank you guys, really appreciate it, your
really did not have to go through this much trouble"
"No seriously there wasnt much trouble" said
rishi "one more thing your birthday present just around the corner, hope
you like it." Aisha squealed.
"There was no need for a gift, but thank you guys"
said Arjun
"I know there wasnt but you must go now to see it"
Aisha exclaimed.
"Whats all the rush"I questioned
"Fine, suit yourself."
I nodded my head and approached the corner I could see
a girl faced towards a window. I walked closer to see that the girl was Arohi.
It took me a few seconds to sink in that she was really here, I thought she had
left.
Came towards me,
"Happy birthday Arjun."she said as she approached him
"Thanks "I Replied. There was an awkward silence "You must be thinking what am I doing
here...well I didn't board the flight to Delhi that day."
"So you have been
in Mumbai all this time." He said a surprised nature. She nodded, not giving
him any eye contact. "Why didn't you go?" He question."I left something behind,
someone dear to me. I had to return to tell them something which has been on my
heart for sometime. I wanted to tell them that I love them. "She came close."I
love you Arjun, and I am sorry that I made you go through all that in the
airport." A tear rolled down her face. Arjun wiped her tears, "please don't'..don't
cry", I stared into her vivid brown eyes.
The walls we built
around our heart to keep love out, know these wall have been broken, so the
love can gleam in again.
"All my life, my heart has yearned for a thing I cannot name, but then I realised to
know that it was you, you said to me that these spaces in my hands where made
to be filled by someone, I finally found the jigsaw. You make me complete as an
individual, I love you." She whispered.
His arms were tightly wrapped around her waist, hers, clinging to his muscular chest, and her head on
his shoulder. "I love you to Arohi."
The night was perfect, the sky was so dark. It was
if the black velvet sheet of the heavens was torn
and had covered the sky tonight. There were scattered diamonds across the alive
and ever radiant sheet. The moon had risen and was full, the light shone through the huge glass window of the office.
They were both lost in each other's ambiance, creating each other's warmth. He looked down at
her, his eyes excelled by the luminosity of the room, he could smell her perfume it was a musky scent. He gave her eccentric smile, she knew that she
had loved from a long time ago; it gave her the feeling as if he knew everything that she didn't. He reached for her hand brushing the strand of hair off her
cheek as it slides ever so lightly past her ear his thumb rubbing softly moving and caressing her left earlobe.
Arjun stroked her supple cheek; he then lifted her
chin; their noses almost touching ever so slightly. She could feel the warmth
of his breath brushing the top of her red lip. The large city that surrounded
them was dense, urban and was filled with millions of people but tonight they
were alone they on this rotating earth.
A gentle, lasting touch of the lips, a
hesitation played on both parts as they touch as if they're both taking the
time to memorize the feelings that they both have for each other. The kiss was soft but passionate.
Arohi pulled away first, "don't get carried away,
that's enough for today."Arjun wrapped his arms around her waist and whispered
"that was just the start." Arohi felt shy and bit her lip.
"ahem, ahem" Arjun quickly let go of Arohi,"so how did
you like our present then?" Aisha questioned. He smiled cheekily "it was okay,
could have been better."Arohi cuffed him on his arm."I think it's getting late
Rishi I think we should get going."
"Okay let's go then Aisha, bye guys."
"Bye, take care." Arjun and Arohi replied. Arjun
turned his head to face Arohi." Finally were alone again, now where were we."
Arjun said in a sassy voice. "You were about to drop me off home "she smiled. He pulled her closer and draped his arms around her waist."Yeah I'll do that,
but before that I would like my birthday kiss." They lips came close again and they kissed.
