Opti, I agree that Dev as a knave would provide a stronger story.  But, perhaps, they are laying down a foundation for him to turn into a villain again.  Having loved only to have that love used by Naintara for her personal goals -- strike one.  Unrequited love yet again -- strike two. 

And unless they've applied the GHSP Marriage Act, the marriage between Dev and Naintara still subsists.  So, the man is rejected on account of his past sins and is trapped in marriage to a woman who is comatose. Life and happiness pass him by, leaving behind a solitary brooding soul.

Regarding Sameera, I'd say that the chances of her appearing are greater than that of Vicky making an appearance.  And, when that happens, I too would like to see Geet stand by her man.
